Looking to purchase 228206-0025
Anyone know if this would also be a good investment? Going market for brand new 2022 is approx $125-135k

For a watch like that, you buy it because you love it. No one knows whether it's going to go up or down.

Thank you for your reply. I definitely do love it as I consider it art as well as watch to wear on occasion. At its high it was over $210k+...it's floating at around $125k-135k. Not sure if I should pull the trigger or wait for a further drop? |

In my personal opinion, I don't think that watch will ever drop below retail price plus maybe a $10,000-$20,000 ish premium for the arabic bits

For that much money I would seek out a non-commission investment counselor. I would avoid jewelry.

IMHO, it seems like a reasonably good time to buy that particular reference (dial). Personally, I have always steered away from premium dials, especially when the dial is not specified on the card - I always wondered how to know if the dial could have been swapped?

Good investment? Maybe, but there are better options for that kind of money. If you love it and plan on enjoying it, who cares? I doubt you’d lose the principle.

Ironically I have been looking at Arabic dial platinum day-dates, but the above statement has definitely given me pause. While I live by the line, ‘buy the seller’, however in many cases dealers haven’t seen them before and an authentic Rolex dial can be refaced to become an Arabic dial and placed on a watch…the economic incentive is there and I noticed an abnormally large amount of Arabic dial watches on the market. Further, Rolex has never indicated which dealers are getting them and how many are being produced adding another layer of complexity to the situation. So full circle I haven’t pulled the trigger. From a pricing stand point $115k is achievable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Anybody see the fluted platinum daydate on secondary market. I don't see any (real) posts on chrono24. Curious how much they are going for

$140k range…I wish Rolex was more transparent about these watches. I didn’t know they were making a green Arabic dial fluted bezel then all of sudden, out of nowhere these watches started appearing…are they authentic? There is no real way to confirm that and further who is selling and how many are being sold? I have more questions than answers. Otherwise, yes I like them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I am fully aware of that…it is just not clear which specific AD’s are authorized to sell nor are they in the catalogue to cross reference any variations. It’s hard to take a leap of faith and just accept every watch I see as 100% legitimate…just sayin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just an update.
Haven't pulled the trigger yet but I've learned quite a bit since my last post. 228206 has the green and blue smooth bezel Arabic dial while the 228236 is the same but with a fluted bezel. As far pricing, I've contacted a few folks both in the UAE and the US. As picking up directly from the Dubai is an option being that my brother lives there and visits here in the US several times a year, the pricing there can't be beat. They can be picked up for $110k-$115k for both the 206 and 236. After several quotes, the lowest I've seen here in the US is $130k. In my opinion, I believe sellers will become more flexible with pricing over the next several months towards the end of the year. Rolex grey market is continuing to drop especially for the higher ticket items such as these references. |

Interesting…I know the blue 228206 can be had for $115k while I could only find a new green 228236 for $140k. Thanks for the info.
I feel like they will be $100k soon enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Found a 2023 brand new 228236 green Arabic dial for $116,000 USD. They are getting lower. Hopefully just a matter of time before we hit 5 digits! |
