Nikon...lovin' it! I've got a D100 & a D80, but would like to get either a D90 or D300 soon. I'm probably OK w/ the D80, but I'm a sucker for new toys. I would assume you're in the range of D3 or so?

I'm hardly a professional, but back in the 90's I did a lot of intelligence work which required me to shoot tens of thousands of shots, all over the world. Some of them ended up in a Smithsonian exhibition on logistics. All those pics are in storage in the US, so nothing to share except for lousy watch shots, and pics of my kids farting around.

But, please share more of yours...they're incredible.

The first shot I posted was done with a D100. Despite it's limitations the quality of the capture is outstanding. The second and 4th shot were both taken with a D2x which I consider one of the best studio cameras ever built. It was the camera I was using when I closed my studio. Today I have a D300 which I hardly ever use but find to be an outstanding camera, I was also fortunate to get an extremely sharp copy of the 18-200 VR which I like.

The third shot was taken with an IR converted D100. Here's a few more infrared shots from that camera.

I like the use of Photoshop. It's the darkroom of the digital age. (Big PS and Lightroom fan myself)

My D100 had a mishap a while back and some of the functions do not work any longer due to the selector lever, but I still use it quite a lot. It is much more solid than the D80, much like your D300 w/ the magnesium body.

I was on the fence about whether I wanted to get the 18-200mm Nikon zoom, so I bought a cheaper Tamron 18-200mm zoom to see if I would use it. My 24-120 f3.5-5.6 is my primary lens, and I find I use my micro nikkor 60mm a lot for close-up things. Unfortunately my fast 35-70 f2.8 & my 70-200 f2.8 lenses are in storage. I think I would use the 70-200mm a lot w/ the kids playing & things of that nature, but I can honestly say I haven't missed it. The Tamron lens is nice (18-200), but it's very slow to focus (compared to my nikon lenses). Chances are I'll pick up the Nikon 18-200mm VR later this year, or maybe the VRII if I can't find the old one at a good price.

I had an F5 before switching to digital, and loved the feel of the camera. Maybe one day I'll upgrade to a D2 or D3 (used, of course).

Your shots are great, so keep sharing, please. I will fumble through my shots later today for some of the decent ones, but bear in mind they won't be on par w/ your shots.

Those B+W shots are beautiful !!

Best camera I ever had was a Olympus OM-4 with some nice Zuiko lenses.

Now use a Canon G9.

I believe she's Indian and Anglo if I'm not mistaken. She's the most distracting person to talk to because she opens her mouth and the most amazing Southern Drawl comes out. Born and raised in the South. Very nice lady and devoted mother of two boys, all of us usually have lunch when she's in town.
