And one of them is receiving a $15 million infusion.

Sounds like a great place for the high end clients to acquire and enjoy their allocation pieces!

That's an expensive cup of tea.

There are a LOT of Rolex dealers in SoCal. I’ve only been to Gearys locations in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, Bhindis in Glendale, and the Tourneau in South Coast. Might have to branch out when these new places open.

Kind of misleading article headline, it's not exactly Rolex but two differnt ADs opening these new boutiques. Gearys is one of them this article refers to. Thier new ultra-boutique will be on Rodeo just a couple doors down from their current locatoin.

The other is Hing Wa Lee who is opening a new large boutique in Larchmont Village - which blows my mind. Larchmont is a very quiet, family neighborhood. VERY affluent area but still seems like an odd placement. There aren't any other high-end shops on Larchmont.

I bet every one of the multiple Rolex dealers in the area has a lengthy portfolio of existing clients, interesting about Hing Wa Lee as I’ve never been to the areas they’re in. I first visited the Geary’s BH Boutique when it was still pretty full of watches, almost impulse bought a BLNR. Visited Bhindi’s, Tourneau South Coast, and Geary’s Santa Monica when there were still some watches in the case, haven’t been to any since things got scarce.
I’m sure they’re all still moving lots of watches. A few years back I heard from a pretty reliable source that the Santa Monica Boutique was the 2nd highest volume store in the US right behind the NY 5th Ave. Kind of surprised they sold more than BH but perhaps SM’s more discreet location might appeal more to celebrities. Even I was ushered into a private room to view some PM pieces.

This a planned way of getting rid of the mom and pop AD’s.

Those are both privately owned limited chains. Not quite single dealer mom and pop but definitely not corporate chains either.

Correct. Gearys is family-owned and has been in LA since at least the 1930s.

And Hing Wa Lee is famously owned by David Lee. Their current store is in a very heavy Chinese American neighborhood. This new one is in a very different part of LA. Night and day difference.

Besides the original Geary’s store on Beverly Drive (their main store) and their ROLEX and Patek boutiques on Rodeo, they also have a boutique 5 to 10 minutes away in the Century City shopping mall

They’ve probably got one or two clients who pay for the Reno’s in a years worth of shopping

Yet there are only two AD's in all of San Diego.

In fairness, SD is pretty small compared to LA County and doesn’t have the same level of money or flex culture LA does.

Sweet! More Rolex CPO warehouses!

I cannot wait to look through the shelves of pre-owned watches being sold for 3 times their MSRP.

They do a great job of restricting supply only to locals. "Oh you're just visiting for the Zoo? Go back to your home town and shop there."
(I'm there 1-2x per year and usually test the market.)

Has anyone ever been to a store's initial opening? They must have inventory available?

Gearys is a first class operation, great longtime family ownership and managers. Happy to have them as my home boutique. Looking forward to the new boutique on Rodeo Drive.

7000 square feet dedicated to Rolex at Geary's. That's a lot of empty display cases.
