Did your watch come with stickers from trusted seller BNIB?
Should I be worried that the new watch was just delivered without stickers. I bought from a trusted seller and was told the stickers have been removed on all watches since 2017, in 99% of cases.
How have watches come to you from trusted sellers over the past six years? It was delivered to my daughter and I’ll look closely at it tomorrow, but wondering about others. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No worries. Most ADs remove all or most stickers the past few years. Before then it was nice to take it home and do it yourself. I’ve still had some stickered but that’s from an AD with a good relationship.

ADs here in the UK have been removing stickers for years, except for the odd one they forget!

AD’s are supposed to take the stickers off, so any watch being resold “should” be stickerless. Obviously some stickered examples do get out into the market, but they aren’t supposed to.

It's normal for an AD to remove the stickers when they sell the watch, much like how an automotive dealer removes the outer plastic wrap on a new car before delivering it to the customer.
I honestly would not be surprised if some of the watches sold with stickers are actually not the same stickers the watch originally came with from Rolex. |

ADs in Japan seem to remove all of the stickers as well (in my experience at least).

My AD removed all of the stickers on my last 2 purchases. The first time it happened I thought it was strange, but I guess it's just part of their process.

I bought my CHNR fully stickered from a grey seller. Just pay a bit more and you can get what and how you want it tomorrow

Did your watch come with stickers from trusted seller BNIB?
Trusted or not it’s probably best to assume the watch is not “new”. A new watch comes directly from the AD to your wrist.
Trusted Sellers are getting desperate as sells are slowing. They’ll polish anything up and advertise it as new to get a sell. Case in point- a forum favorite has a BLNR from 2019 listed as “unworn condition”. So you’re saying that this thing has been in the wild since 2019 and hasn’t collected a hairline scratch or a ding? Yeah right. The watch was polished to unworn condition and advertised as such bc the snake oil salesman know we prefer mint. Don’t trust the greys when it comes to new watches. It’s only new if you buy directly from AD. Otherwise you’re paying over retail for a used watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’ve had tons of great experiences with grey dealers as well. A quick polish job that probably costs the Grey dealer a fraction of what we pay for a polish job (bc they do more business) and this allows the grey to advertise as new and increase already slims margins. 100% happens. Best to just acknowledge it. As the market continues to slip you’ll start to see different marketing tactics and sales verbiage to reel in buyers. “Unworn condition” on a 2019 just made me chuckle. OP, it may be new or it may be polished slightly to look new. Either way, you’ll never know. I would just enjoy the watch. Only way to buy new is through AD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Already slim margins?
Nearly every listing I look at for a unworn/new advertised grey market Rolex is near double of retail price. Quote:

Typically their margins are 10%. However, I could be way off. Try selling a stickered Pepsi and see what they offer versus what they list at. Currently they are offering 4-5k lest than list. I think that’s just bc they are preparing for a market downturn though and what they have currently listed was purchased at inflated prices. Check out bswanson. Guys been bumping 3 different Pepsis for about a month Edit: when I say list I mean Grey prices, not msrp Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I cruised by the classified last night, the guys with the seven bumps, maybe they could try lowering the advertised price. I am starting to get a little more comfortable with buying grey, somewhat, for a premium to end the quest, but I don't think I have any intent in reaching out to someone for a negotiation on something that is $4-5000 over watch even Watch Charts is showing as reasonable. |

It may appear unworn but truly unworn (whatever that means) seems optimistic at best. Not knocking grey, I just interpret new as like-new and unworn as appears unworn. Not so punchy I guess, that’s why I’m not in sales. |

Did your watch come with stickers from trusted seller BNIB?
It is my understanding that a grey dealer gets his brand new stock out the back door, of a disreputable AD, who should not be selling to him. In most cases, the stickers will have been removed. He then resells the watch to one of us. It remains brand new and unworn, until one of us purchases it. I, personally, consider that a brand new, unworn wrist watch, that has simply been passed through several hands. I have seen watches advertised as fully stickered, but that’s the exception, not the rule. Having recently purchased a watch, from an AD, I never saw the stickers. They had been removed, before the watch was presented to me, and before sizing. So, to say the only way to buy a “new” watch, is from an AD, is misleading.
OP, if you bought from one of our trusted sellers, and were told the watch is brand new/unworn, trust that it is! Congrats to your daughter! Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Stickers don't authenticate a watch. Buying from a reseller and you will likely get the watch the way they got it, they don't usually put stickers back on.

The way you look at it, if I buy new, from AD, I am already the 3rd owner, since AD buys the watch from Rolex, then I buy it from him. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Thank you so much everyone for your help with confirming what was told to me.
My last purchase was six years ago from a trusted seller here and it did have the stickers. |
