First Lange arrived, plus a surprise
Sometimes life works in funny ways. Last week I received a call that a car I had been dreaming of in one form or another since I was in college had finally arrived, and on Tuesday I received another call that my Lange was here. So today became a double collection day.
The Lange is a really cool looking watch, and I don't think there's anything I can say that hasn't already been said. Very clean (almost cold) design on the front, and the rear is like someone built me a little minuature 3D city inside the case filled with gears and levers and bridges to look at. I love all my other chronographs, but the Lange really hits different somehow and the depth you can see in the movement is stunning. As a teenager in high school/college, the Lange Datagraph was my computer wallpaper, and the 911 was my only other wall poster alongside the McLaren F1. The F1 won't happen in 10 lifetimes but I am beyond happy I was able to make the 911 and Lange happen. Fast forward some 20+ years, I ordered the watch in February of this year and was told it was about a 1 year wait. At the time I wasn't even looking at or considering a new car since they're ludicrously expensive where I am. I had all but given up the idea of ever getting one. Then sometime in May I started discussing with my wife about possibly making the dream happen, we worked hard and saved up for a long time and are fortunate enough to finally be in a position to afford it. So June we went and placed the deposit on the car and by some twist of faith both showed up this week and today I collected them together. I can't imagine what the odds are of a dream watch and a dream car arriving in the same week 20+ years later. I actually think it's rather fitting, my first Porsche and my first Lange, both coming from Germany. The GT3 will be my only car and my daily, and although the Lange won't be a daily I plan to wear it as often as possible. This is really a once in a lifetime thing for me, and I couldn't be any happier. |

It's Gentian blue. PDK + sofas. It's my daily and only car, I plan to drive it until the wheels fall off with the occasional track day here and there. |

Congrats. 4 stunning chronos. I’m lusting after a cdv but would not turn down the 1815, or the 5172 for that matter.

Congrats on both the watch and the car. What a collection of chronographs especially from the perspective of the case back.

The Lange strap feels quite stiff right now, I assume because it's still new. Any owners able to feedback if it will get softer over time? |

In 2015 I made a thread where I picked up my first Lange (1815 40mm WG) and took delivery of my custom order f80 M3 in the same day.
This feels like the sequel that’s better than the first movie! Godfather 2! Huge congrats. How does the CDV hold up now that you have the Lange and Patek? Does it feel like Kin to them or Kin to the omega?

I love 911s. I almost bought a GT3 someone didn’t take delivery on when I had a different car in for service. They had it way in the back of their lot but it was my favorite color Riveria Blue.
Congrats! |

Huge congratulations my friend!!!
I still remember our discussions on these chronographs and it seems like it was just a few weeks ago. And now you have all of them now, how time flies! IMHO, you now own the best chronographs from all the brands. Time to venture to another complication. (Perpetual calendar is next? The 5172 would match up really well with a 5320G) And congrats on the GT3. I personally cannot imagine using it as a daily but Singapore probably have a lot less pot holes than here in CA. Drive it like you steal it and don't repeat my mistake. My last 911 only got 500 miles on it per year and I finally gave up and sold it. |
