Does winding a chrono while subdials are not reset damage the movement?

I have the hour marker and minute subdials pointing to particular numbers that matter to me. If the power reserve runs out and I manually wind the watch without resetting the chrono all to 0, does that damage the watch at all?

Does it matter on the movement (vertical versus horizontal clutch)?
