Buying on Chrono 24

What is everyone's advice for buying on Chrono? I'm looking for a 41 DJ Blue Dial and they seem to have the best prices right now. Lots of sub $10k (finally). Does Chrono guarantee authenticity? How do you know if you are wiring money to a reputable seller?

Regardless of where I would buy something, I would always pay with a credit card, even if the price would be higher. The 2% credit card cashback helps soften that below for me.

Check out the seller's feedback there. If it's all great, that is a good start. You can use their escrow, so the seller does not receive the money until you receive the actual watch. I would only deal with professional sellers there who have their own websites. Those dealers you can usually call and gain some better understanding of the watch and trust for the dealer through one-on-one speaking. Private sellers there are a bit different. No way to speak to them. The escrow helps to receive the watch, but it is fairly wide on condition and watch functioning or lack thereof in favor of the private seller. I have bought on Chrono24 both from private and professional sellers with no issues.

Technically, Chrono24 does not guarantee anything. It is merely a forum for buyers and sellers where due diligence is needed.

What I do (or did):
I only sell at choro24.

When I want to buy, I find a dealer from there but local to me, and visit or call the dealer. I can be more confident that way, as well as save a lot (dealer gave me 10% or more lower than the listing the price on chrono24)

I’ve bought several watches from Chrono24. I use it as a search engine for watches in my country. I only buy from professional sellers that have mainly 5 star reviews and also have a brick and morter store where i can go to and look at the watch.

Don’t buy from private seller unless they accept returns.
Chrono24 dealers are required to have a returns policy, but not the private sellers.
