28mm Datejust

Guys,
Is the 28mm datejust too small on my wrist?
I have ~16cm round wrist.

I think 31mm is nice as a modern ladies’ size but it’s what you feel most comfortable with.

I do have the option to replace it within a week, with same configuration in 31mm or may be a diamond dial in same color. Not sure though.

28 or 31 for a lady is like 36 or 41 for a gent. I would say 31 is better these days but as others have said try a 31 and decide which one you prefer- there is no wrong answer.

I’d need to see a picture from 3 or 4 feet away.

I do like the look of 28mm watches though

I'll try to post another soon, btw what do u think of same size but diamond markers. Only 2 options are available in SS, 28mm with diamond markers or 31mm exactly same config.

I am a lady, and my wrist is about the same size as yours, but I prefer 36 mm. So, I am biased. To me, it looks way too small. Get the 31!

I agree. I wear a 36mm DJ, and feel like it's too small for you. Looks really snug. I agree with Kat, go for the 31mm or larger.

For a Rolex, I'd go with at least a 31.

For fashion watches like Cartier or Van Cleef and Arpels, the smaller dials would work better.

Not even one variation of 36mm is available right now in SS.

I'd personally go with 36mm but no smaller than 31mm for your wrist size.

Given how tight that looks, yes somewhat small. Go for at least 31mm, preferably 36mm.

Ladies … for a purchase for my girlfriend … for those of you that like bigger watches, is a 36mm perfect ?

How about a 34mm ?

I bought for already a 28mm, and am waitlisted for a 31mm, and am curious about 34 / 36mm.

Depends on whether she has dainty wrists, and her personal preference. I have never been drawn to ladies’ watches, per se. The smallest I’d consider is a 34 mm. My sweet spot is 36-39. I even wear bigger divers, but 36 is perfect, in my book:

28mm Datejust

My a wife wears in rotation a DJ26mm steel gold jubilee and OP31 mm steel on oyster. Her favorite is the 26mm!
28mm should be perfectly fine for a lady IMO

It really depends on individual taste. I’ve noticed that almost all female collectors are into wearing larger watches. Also, larger Women’s watches have become popular among fashion brands, such as Michael Kors. Personally, I would not wear a 26, 28, or 31 mm watch.

I don’t follow the trends Kat, only writing what my wife wears and likes. Whatever floats the boat…

My wife has very small/thin wrists (5.33 inches/135mm) and prefers the 26mm DJ size. She could easily wear the 28mm or even 31mm, but prefers the 26, primarily due to lighter weight on her wrist. A 36mm or larger would look out of place on her (and be too "case heavy" - again, for her). As others have said, wear what gives you a smile.

No, i don't think the 28mm Datejust would be too small for your 16cm wrist, it actually look pretty sleek and classy on you, but if you like bigger watch, you can consider trying the 36mm or 41mm sizes.

I prefer to wear a watch, not to have a watch take over my wrist and scream "look at me!" Prior to my husband buying me a Lady Datejust for our 40th anniversary in 2021, I wore one of two Tag Heuer watches, both of which are 27mm. So when Hubs said he wanted to buy me the Rolex, I immediately said the 28mm - I never even thought about any other size.

As for the couple of comments that the watch looks "tight" or "snug" on you, that has NOTHING to do with the size of the watch itself - it has to do with the size/length of the bracelet. I, too, have a 16cm wrist (just measured it again, and it's exactly 16cm), and my Jubilee bracelet had no adjustments to it - it's exactly as Rolex delivered it to the AD. Sometimes a photo will make it appear that the watch is "snug" or "tight" but it could just be the angle of the photo. Also, close-up photos don't really show a good representation of how the watch really looks on someone's wrist.

Maybe add the link back in? Wear it loose, like a bracelet? I find it attractive worn that way.
I think the 28mm has the best proportions and looks incredibly feminine, regardless of wrist size. I would stick with 28mm for the DJ, and maybe get a larger, sportier watch for other occasions. Breitling has a ladies dive watch. 31mm op would be a good second watch also.
