Congnac question...

I might not be as "world travelled" as others here, so tossing this question out.
I was at an "event" a couple weeks ago.
At one "beverage station", they had Cognac.
The first one I has was "neat". (Straight, room temperature", for the second, they asked if I wanted it with "Apple Juice".
I had never heard of this before.
It was tasty, but new to me.
Has anyone heard of this before??

BTW, it was NOT cheap Congnac either.

Every cupboard need a bottle of good cognac within.
The stuff practically never goes bad, it can be subbed for wine in cooking,
and you never know when a true "hot toddy" might be required.

A splash is great in herbal tea when sick or not, and a
quick shot makes snow shoveling seem pleasurable.

A tiny glass can be sipped for hours, or a hearty measure is a century's old restorative.

Hhmm...never heard of mixing it with apple juice before. I usually mix mine with Dr. Pepper. Sprite also goes well with it.

There is a drinke called Alize, which is cognac mixed with passion fruit juice.
I prefer my Cognac neat.

Not much into cognacs, John. I know Hennessy and Martell make nice ones. But I'd rather have a 25 yr old Macallan sherry cask single malt any day. About as smooth as any cognac I know of.

I much prefer a good ole scotch over Congnac.
Just that this is what they were serving at a fairly high end event.

It is a fairly well-known combination. To each his own I guess. I'm not very partial to Cognac, I prefer old Armagnac but even that doesn't really do it for me. Whisky is high on my favourite drinks list. And the better Bourbons, e.g. Woodford Reserve. All those drinks I really like are products that are made with patience, care and attention. Small batch Gin, single Malts, handmade Dutch Gin aged in old oak casks, etc. If you want to get really drunk, really soon, buy a bottle of the cheapest Vodka you can find and prepare for a bad hangover. If you're out to savour something good, find a drink you really like, read up on it and buy from a maker that still takes the time and effort to produce something special and that needn't be a well known brand name, especially with Cognac. Or not:
