Folding clasp for the IWC Mark XVI?

Good day dear forum members,
I have a question about retrofitting a folding clasp. I have an IWC Mark XVI , which, compared to the XV, has a pin buckle and no folding clasp. I would be interested to know if anyone has retrofitted a folding clasp to the Mark XVI? I've never worn a watch with a folding clasp, so I don't know whether it's more comfortable or not. The main reason would probably be to protect the leather bracelet.

Sure, give it a try. I think you might find reasons to use it, but comfort and fit won't be the main reason, I don't think. The main benefits, I think, are reduced wear/tear on the strap, and reduced risk of dropping your watch when you're putting it on and taking it off of your wrist.

There are some watch/strap combos where I think a deployant clasp works great, and there are others where I prefer an ardillon buckle. Usually when the watch case and the strap are very thin I'll use an ardillon buckle because the deployant clasp creates bulk on the underside of the wrist that's out of balance with a very thin watch case.

I recommend contacting an IWC Boutique about ordering the deployant clasp best suited to your watch/strap and your preference. The couple of times I have visited the Boutique in Manhattan (on Madison, if I recall correctly) I was impressed with the helpful staff there.
