Is it safe threads please God give me strength, with today's Rolex wearers with special crystal buff clothes,special Rolex shampoo,special watch resting cloths. We still have the accuracy to deal with. Usually, my watch is gaining 3 seconds a day, its out of tolerance by +1 from the Rolex -2/+2, now do I take it in for service ? And another headache is, do i send it in via the AD or do i go straight to the nearest RSC.
All the real world problems in owning a Rolex watch ! ha ha !

I get your point, Peter. However, I will point out that in my diving days in Scotland I knew a couple of commercial North Sea divers who both had Rolex Sea-Dwellers. They wore them at work but to protect them from the rigours of underwater welding, etc they used a bicycle inner tube cut down a section of the middle over their watches. Tool watch and protection aren't mutually exclusive

Again if someone posted on say YouTube that to get the best accuracy from a Rolex they must hang upsidedown for 1 hour a day expect many would do it.As many of todays younger age whose sole information cupboard is in so called social media,Instagram,Youtube etc instead of using there own brain.And many now do what ever the likes of YouTube social media dictates what to buy or do, as so called social media YouTube etc have taken over there lives and use of there own brain power.Today social media should be renamed as its getting now in many ways to be very un-social media.

Quite true but just common sense by the divers, but afraid today common sense is sadly lacking with many today.

To that end I have worn a Rolex (of one kind or another) all day every day since...And they have yet to let me down...
The thought of not wearing my watch because of what I was doing or where I was going never occurred to me...

1). It is safe as long as you are under water or in a car garage or construction site while wearing a Rolex.
2) I think just 80 plus works.

While funny. The fact is. Now. A younger 1st time Rolex owner is most likely stretching his budget to get a Rolex from an authorized dealer while waiting forever to actually get one from them. It is understandable to be very protective of this watch. It is an aspirational piece and a trophy to be cherished.

I still remember my 1st Rolex. A DJ turnograph. In 2001. After much deliberation I owned my first Rolex. I felt great and was introduced to the world of watches. I didn’t even know about watches till I asked my friend what type of watch he had on. It was a sub. I never wore a watch. 3 month later I had the DJ on my wrist. 3 month after that a sub date. lol. 3 month after that a stainless Daytona via grey market. I was hooked.

I wear my Sub or Explorer (39) pretty much everyday since I got them this year. I do not baby them, but I also dont go out of my way to abuse them - I treat them well, but these are tough tool watches and I’d let the go if they didnt hold up - which millions of rolex owners have proven that they WILL hold up. The only place I dont wear my rolexes is to the gym, as I wear a G-Shock there because I KNOW that I regularly bash my wrists into weights/etc.

I am of the opinion that if you cant stand a scratch or a nick you should not own or wear it. You have one life to live, its just a watch, enjoy it, have it polished ever 7-10 years and you have a near new watch again. Life must not be much fun for those who have this type of OCD.

Well my Father way back in the late 1970s early 1980s took on two jobs and saved for almost 5 years to buy is first Rolex. Rolex watches have always been expensive and far more disposable income around today than it was back in the 1980s. The only difference back then sure Rolex watches were easier to buy from ADs, but although it was a huge expense for my Father he most certainly did not baby it .I own my Fathers 6263 now still ticking and keeping time but its one watch I would never ever sell at any price.

Wait wait…. we are supposed to actually WEAR these things?! I thought we just watched YouTube, identified the hyped models that would cause everyone to fawn over me if I wore it, wait for a year plus and receive a call to spend thousands. Now that I did all of those things I now need to actually wear it? But what about my plan to sell my flawless GMT someday so I can pay for my private island and retire?
