Show me a better black tie event watch

This little combo just tickles me every time I wear it. What’s everyone else do for formal events??

I'm missing a dress watch but for me the OP41's work best out of the Rolex unless you go 1908 of course.

Rolex are a sports/tool watch brand in my eyes PP & VC do dress watches far better..

Whatever, it doesnt matter. Going to a wedding next month, probably wear the BLRO, 124060 or 3861 Speedy on a bracelet. But who knows, if I was wearing the Deepsea already, I may just keep rocking that. Or go ham with with my PAM 3105 on camo rubber.

According proper black tie etiquette no watch to be worn on these events.
One is also not supposed to wear sneakers but by all means feel free to do what you want.
I know, old fashioned and all that but I like to hang on to old values. Just don’t understand the society as it is now anymore.

If you must a modest sized three hander on black leather is probably most appropriate

I rock the Patrimony Contemporaine, in formal (and not so formal) setting.

Last wedding I went to I wore this. It was a destination wedding. And this is sort of my travel watch.

I actually really like this look - the somber black and tie wardrobe against the radiant Daytona.

It really emphasizes the watch.

I suppose my Milgauss Z-Blue is my "dressiest" watch, even though I think the bright blue dial and orange hand look pretty casual and the green crystal is simply cool yet different. I don't go to all that many black tie events and so I don't give it a lot of thought.

For my daughter's wedding last year, just about as formal and important of a day for a dad as I could imagine, I didn't give my watch choice much thought. It was a destination weekend and so I wasn't near home with any ability to alter my watch choice, plus it was just a crazy blur of a weekend taking care of all of the wedding logistics. I had been wearing my newest Sub and so that's what I wore to the wedding! Not many folks would be able to see it or notice it, or frankly care other than maybe me. There was one of the photographs that incidentally captured it, and I think it looks fine. :)

Cropped/zoomed picture of me hugging my daughter before walking her down the aisle.

My engagement / wedding watch that my wife bought me was a 3861 Sapphire Sandwich. It looks incredible with a tux on the bracelet.
