Rolex Explorer ref 24270 case back

Hi, so I recently purchased a 2021+ Rolex Explorer 1 in 36mm and I've noticed that the case back is polished (not the center) so it kind of looks off from most of the earlier 2021 models which appear to be all fully brushed. I perused around chrono24 and noticed that most of these 24270 models are fully brushed and this had me wondering.

I've purchased this watch from a reputable dealer but since I was curious, I also went ahead and opened it to reveal the 3230 movement and also noticed that the winding component also has "Chronometer Perpetual" engraved into it. (not so much in earlier versions).

Attached is the polished back photo:

and also the inside which reads "Rolex Geneva Switzerland Stainless Steel 2570"

and finally, the watch movement:

Thoughts?

Wondering if this is also a result of a silent update on the newer 2022 and above models.

Thanks,

I got my 124270 a few weeks ago, and it’s all brushed.

Thanks. Just wondering why mine is semi-polished on the outer part like a date-just. The inside number indicates an explorer model. Puzzled.

Rolex Explorer ref 24270 case back

Could it be that there were scratches on the case back, and the owner polished them out , thereby changing the finish? You can have it rebrushed, or do it yourself, with scotchbrite.

Oops. That is a poor high polish job by someone who thought it was supposed to be polished that way like subs and GMTs.

Your warranty is now void as I found out myself recently.
