Incoming - 2023 Ultimate DJ

I received the AD Text - This arrives in Jan 24 - The Ultimate Formal 36mm Datejust, 126283RBR - 1 of 1 due to the MOP dial. This is an older Stock photo, it will be great to see the actual watch and MOP dial I receive! (Before prices go up)
This will go nicely with my SUB "Bluesy". One Sport Daily wear, One Formal

A little too flashy for my taste. Perfect for a woman, not a man.

We all have our opinions and different tastes - wear what you like and prefer! I think it's a work of art (like your tag line) with flawless stones.

Definitely a rarely seen and very unique piece. I'm sure you can't wait as 1/24 is over a month away! An early congrats. Please share photos and impressions when you take delivery.

I certainly will and thank you. I wanted it for its rarity in the Rolex World and for being unique, as well as being at the top of the DJ food chain (IMO). I'm so tired of seeing so many Black SS SUBs, but I know that's a cost-entry point watch for most. I prefer the 18K gold classic OG "Bluesy" for my 2020 SUB.

I also wanted a formal DJ for the local symphony, nice dinners out, etc. My "Manhood" and "Man Card" are well intact with my two daughters and a hot blond GF in the right seat of the Macan S!

So yea...I'm flexing a bit for having a successful year in business and turning 60!

Indeed good Sir - Sporting a Rollie with D grade and IF stones isn't shabby.

I can dig it, but I wouldn’t call it a “formal” watch. Like others said, you do you, and congrats.

From Mr. AI - If you own a tux or nice suit it's a "formal" watch. What vernacular would you use to describe a Datejust with diamonds pushing $30K in value?

Yes, Rolex watches are often considered formal watches. The Rolex Cellini collection is a great option for those who find themselves wearing formal attires and suits. This collection is their dedicated dress watch line and they are supposed to be worn on leather straps 1. However, that in no way means that you cannot wear other Rolex models with formal attire. Many of Rolex’s most iconic designs are versatile enough to be worn in nearly every setting, and that includes formal environments.

That’s why I said “I” would not consider it formal. A three hander on a leather strap is “my” idea of formal. As such, I have a piece like that in my collection. Since you asked, the vernacular I would use to describe a MOP DJ with diamonds would be “flashy”, not formal. That’s just me, you do you. Nobody’s judging anybody.

Not sure about this “top of the DJ food chain” thing, nor do I care how much you’re paying for it. It’s for you to wear what you like, but understand your motives and try to be a little more humble.

It's definitely "Flashy" LOL - no judgment taken. I love the classics with a nice alligator strap too. That's down the road. Most likely a JLC since I like the history of them being the "Watchmaker's Watch". A moon phase in Gold or a Reverso Gold. The new Tribute Chronograph is amazing.

Thanks for your opinion Tony, I respectfully disagree - Most Rolex are very expensive as a whole. We can all look that up on many sources. I am very humble mate, and thankful for being able to buy a few Rolex's in my life.

Congrats! Although I’m not sure a Datejust is at the top of any food chain but this should definitely not matter if this is the watch you wanted.

For clarity, I was only referring to the Datejust options. Certainly, others are in a class by themselves.

Mother of pearl dials are great to me! Diamond bezel or no, there is such variety of these dials. I have seen some beauties.

Congrats in advance OP - I think Mac Miller used to rock a DJ w MOP dial but in rose gold which I thought looked good. I've always found MOP intriguing, though not sure I could pull it off. Hope you enjoy when it lands!

Why not get a DD if you haven't already? Aren't these 20-30k easily?
