Suggestions on what I do with this California Bubbleback dial
Here is an original Rolex California Dial from a 2940 bubbleback. Any suggestions on what I do with it? It's a rare and valuable dial but, given its condition, will I devalue it getting it redialed? Unless there is a way of "cleaning up the dial" and still keeping it original I think I want to get it redialed (for instance I don't know if the green bits can be neutralised or cleaned off). But don't want to do anything Ill regret..

That’s just too far gone to be if any real value except as a blank.

Maybe ask a good independent watchmaker what can be done with it as if anyone will know they will. I’m not 100% sure if it’s something he would do but check Michael woods in Colac Victoria he’s got a great reputation and he might be able to point you in the right direction. It might be beyond being able to do anything with it tbh.

I don't think you could do anything that would hurt its value.

Not rare or valuable in that condition. The bubbleback craze was in the late 80s and early 90s. Those days are gone and in todays collector world, bubblebacks are just too small for current fashion.

Thanks for the comments. I'll look into getting it redialed.

Would agree, it's sustained enough wear and tear that doing anything at this point won't affect re-sale value.
