Does Rolex slow down for the summer?

Do their shipments to AD slow for the summer months or do they close for August?

My understanding is that they do not slow down.

The factory output itself is fairly steady.

In Europe, during August, shipments to ADs can stall because of several reasons.

But not based on the premise of your question. You see, the factory doesn't ship to ADs; the supply chain involves a subsidiary entity who is the importer and wholesale channel. For example, here in USA that is Rolex USA; in the United Kingdom it is Rolex UK.

So the distribution channel is the primary cause of any slowdown to the ADs. Different countries will have different experiences.

No they do not go on construction holiday. Contrary to popular belief they also do not throttle supply during slow sales periods.

True, there is no slow-down in general, BUT GMTs, particularly the Pepsi, do suffer a little, because Agnes and Gertrude - the two bezel-painting ladies - take holidays, one in July, one in August (never both at the same time, obviously).

My understanding is that both Agnes and Gertrude took a 3 month break together and went touring in Australasia, this is what has caused the lack of Pepsi availability.

I believe that both are now back at the paint wheel.
