Icon11 Gritty feeling when winding Rolex.

Hi everybody!

I currently have a problem with my 116500Ln Panda which come with 4130 movement, I felt gritty when I winding. Is it normal for all Rolex movements, because overwinding or any issue with movement?

Thank you!

Go to your local Rolex AD and have the watchmakers there assist……

My experience with the 4130 is that it’s generally very very smooth. I’d venture to say it’s easily the smoothest winding movement in my collection - certainly compared to the cal. 3185 for instance.

Are you winding it from a dead stop?

Mine is definitely smooth when I wind it from a dead stop. If it is in fact gritty, maybe stop by your AD and see what the watchmaker says

It’s likely gritty as the watch is fully wound already. Let the watch come to a full stop and try winding and the grittiness will be gone

Should be very smooth like when you first got it? Could be a few things ,mainspring issue or lube, have it checked and serviced.

Cheers,

Sounds like it needs a service. I’d be interested to know what year it is because I’d expect it to go longer before it needed a service.

Lots of speculation about what's wrong but why not do as some have sensibly suggested and get the proper people to look at the watch, start with the AD or if you have an accredited RSC in town start there.

We can all speculate but these Rolex trained guys and gals can investigate properly.
