Unusual clasp on a 6635 rivet bracelet, is it original?
Hi all,
This 6635 bracelet came on a 1962 Tudor 7965. I noticed the coronet is stamped in the body of the clasp, not integrated into the opening tab as on other examples of this bracelet. The clasp measures 13 by 23 mm and has six micro-adjust holes. Blade is stamped "Patented & Registered / Swiss Made." Last photo shows a usual 6635 clasp. Searching online, I found smaller clasps for 17 mm bracelets with this logo placement, but none for a 19 mm. What are your thoughts, folks? Not original? Fake, even? Thanks all. |

Clasp is genuine. Later ones had the coronet stamped like your example.

More info in the thread below. What year (if any) is stamped on the blade?

The later SWISS clasp that I was referring to is depicted below on a SWISS 6251 Jubilee found on a 1972 GMT.

I love the 7965 so much that I own 2. They look like a 36mm with the lengthened lug width. The visual is very good on them. The 6635 bracelet is a great find. |

Here is the second 7965. Both are 1965 model years.

Yes I like the model too, v nice.
For newbie Tudor Oyster collectors, these two photos illustrate emphatically that Tudor don't follow the footer convention that Rolex do of : SWISS MADE pre 52, SWISS 52 to c 63 and T SWISS T after 63. Tudor are all over the place..... Many 70-80-90s pieces are SWISS footer eg 74000 and 9121/9111/9101, and then there are the peculiar - T SWISS T - and T -SWISS - T versions on the same watch !

The silver dial 7965 marked "Swiss" is serial 565XXX The black dial 7965 marked " T Swiss T" is serial 460XXX pointing to 1965 This information from a friend who spends an enormous amount of time researching his Rolex collection. This, he says, applies to Rolex. What are your thoughts? " Swiss " luminous material Radium used until 1960 radioactive " Swiss T - <25 " luminous material Tritium used from 1960 until 1998 radioactive, radioactivity less than 925 MBq (25 MCi) " T Swiss T " luminous material Tritium used from 1960 until 1998 radioactive, radioactivity less than 277 MBq (7,5 MCi) " Swiss " luminous material Tritium used from 1998 until 2000 not radioactive " Swiss Made " luminous material Superluminova used from 2000 not radioactive |

And there are more subtleties. For example, what does your friend say about "underline," "T SWISS MADE T," and "tritinova" dials?
