Yeah I just purchased a Sub 116618LB in September 2023 & I have been wearing it regularly. I don’t see the sense in not wearing it if you buy it you should wear it, unless you purchase it for investment purposes

I don’t see the point in buying something and having it as a safe queen. Life is too short enjoy it to the max

I think the whole point of having different watches is to wear them for different occasions. It all depends on what’s in your collection.

As someone in their early 50's who's two best friends from high school are dead, I don't believe in putting anything away in a safe that I can enjoy.. and I love and enjoy my watches... it's one of the things in life that make me happy...

Agree 100% with wearing it but not sure what the issue with taking it to Thailand would be?

If I was you I’d keep it in the safe until your birthday but I’m very sentimental.

But then I’d wear the hell out of it

Have to agree just cannot see any point in buying any watch to keep it in a safe and not wear it. Unless perhaps to some that think that Rolex watches are just ££$$€€ and little more.

Brother, I have the same reference and I wore mine all last week. I couldnt fathom tucking it away and "saving it only for special occasions", or even worse, making it a safe queen. We are on this big rock called Earth for a very short period of time, enjoy what you have, your watches are meant to be worn.

Firstly many congratulations on acquiring such a stunning piece

Secondly wear the hell out of it as much as possible

However, just be careful ‘where’ you wear it

I’ve never been to Thailand - if you have & your confident it’s safe then go for it, just don’t take unnecessary risks

That’s not exactly a shrinking violet you got there twinkling in the sunlight - lol!

Enjoy

I would wear the watch. As others have mentioned life tends to be short. I never understood those that purchase an expensive car and let it sit in the garage. These items are only being kept nice for the next owner.

Great watch. I am in the market for a 116618LN and when the right one comes along I might pick it up. I wear my watches and do not shy away but I am also aware of the situations and locations I will be in. I currently travel with my Tudor Pelagos FXD and MN with both straps and a Casio G-Shock and Seiko Diver. Not because I am scared or in places I should not be but because it is one less thing to think about. My current travel watches are very cool to me but are also somewhat lowkey, just the way I want to be. No extra attention or anything to set me out from the crowd. Should I suffer a loss then those watches can easily be replaced. I also have insurance. There is no way I would wear a PM, valuable watch to Thailand. Too much exposure and for what? Enjoy your watch.

I wear it at all opportune moment, except in cases where I risk damaging my watch.

Otherwise, I even wear it whilst cleaning and prepping a fish that I shall cook for dinner.
