Nighttime V/S Daytime Rolex??????
Have you ever switched watches from day to night .......My favorite Nighttime Rolex is my TT sub...It looks really beautiful off the city lights.
My daytime favorite is my SS daytona, the way the sun hits the dial sends chills up my spine weigh in. |

Come to think of it, my Explorer seems brighter than my GMT. I guess that should make it my nighttime watch, but I really just grab what sings to me at the moment.

I only own the one...
But if I owned several, I could see changing watches to match the attire / occasion. |

Yup.
Pretty much only wear my SS White Daytona during the day. My poor eyes can't read it in the evenings. SO, swap to one of the Panerais.

Nope, I have just one Rolex. I picked the YM in part because it can be worn with anything...casual, dressy/formal, professional/work attire, etc.

During the day, whichever I fancy, love 'em all.....maybe depending what I am doing.....night time...my original DJ (avatar) because for some brilliant reason after 23 years the Tritium still glows enough for me to read it in the dark (for which I am eternally thankful for and dearly wish that "they" would find a similar substance for lume, but that's another thread).....or my GMTIIc because the lume on mine is good enough for my eyes for a whole night.....

The white dialled with its black hands offer super legibility during the day, but at dawn the black painted hands do not reflect any of the light available so the black dialled Explorer with its shiny WG hands offers some nice reflection and greater legibility. I like that ;-) Best, A |

I have noticed that two tone watches tend to fare better under a wider variety of lighting conditions, especially unnatural "gold" lighting (quartz, incandescant, spotlights, etc.) while SS watches look positively their best under whiter light, especially flourescent lighting. In particular, the SS Daytona looks stunning in flourescent lighting, but under the gold lighting typical at restaurants, etc. the Sub and the Crosswind really comes into their own.
Since noticing this, I've sometimes been guilty of choosing the watch based upon the lighting conditions I'll be encountering when I go out, lol...but I'm anal like that!
