Daytona Easy Link on swollen arm...
Daytona3.jpg
I was trying to change the oil on my Vespa. The ring spanner slipped and I hit my forearam pretty hard on the stand mount. I was wrenching on the drain plug as hard as I could when the spanner slipped and 'whack!' The nut head on the drain plug is really shallow so its easy for the spanner to slip off. Daytona6.jpg Fortunately the easy link on the Daytona came in handy but I still couldn't wear it for 2 days due to the swelling. Daytona7.jpg Got pretty bruised up....... Just lucky I took off my Daytona to work on my Vespa Daytona1.jpg

Looks nasty, hope you heal quickly.
I did similar and hit my nail a few months ago, I don’t think I have used so many curse words in such a short space of time. |

Ouch! Sorry that happened but glad you got it back! I remember when it got “nicked” in the first place. Is it coming back together ok?
Also love that Daytona; it’s a hitter!

Yes, Vespa is coming back together good, just waiting on some parts: front suspension, mirrors, brake levers. Thanks the Daytona is a hitter...a home run for me in fact!!

That's the Vespa that was stolen? I think it's cursed. You need to bring it to an Italian grandmother and remove the "malocchio". This is the evil eye curse. If you have Italian friends in Australia(lots of Italians) let them help you....this is a thing, so do not roll your eyes or laugh!!

Glad the Daytona avoided the impact Steve. Hope the arm gets better quick.
I bashed my first Daytona (a 116520) in 2009 while inspecting a race car's exhaust. In my case it save injury but cost me a new bezel and crystal. But painless for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

At least the watch was ok. Lol on here I feel like you could post you broke your arm and had to have surgery to install hardware to fix it and everyone would be like “dang that sucks.” Whack your wrist hard enough to dent the case of your watch and require laser welding and everyone would be like “Oh the horror! How will you go on?!” We’s a passionate bunch of watch nerds lol

That’s much worse than it appeared in the Zoom GTG - the arm, not the watch. I hope in improves quickly, Steve.

Have a quick recovery my friend. Glad you had the Daytona rest during your DIY project. Even a small ding in that would have made your experience a lot more worse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had a mishap a few weeks ago on a mountain bike that earned me 90 minutes in the dentist chair and cost me a tooth. I can only conclude that watches are a safer hobby than anything involving two wheels.
You’ve definitely got much worse swelling and there’s some pretty impressive colours going on there - hope it improves soon… |

I always wondered how a Daytona would look like if put on a salami. Now I know! All kidding aside, just happy you didn't break anything and that your watch is safe.

How did you survive without being able to wear your Daytona for 2 days??? Must have been a shock. You even took photos and posted a thread…

I'm not worried so much about the bruising but the swelling that still exists. I can confirm the watch is safe.
Rolex really did good with the anti-reflective inner treatment as there is hardly any reflection when taking a photo. I'm in two minds about doing any more do it yourself work on the Vespa, but then again nothing ventured nothing gained. I do think Rolex should use the Glide Lock clasp across the entire professional range of watches as the range of adjustability is far superior to the Easy Link clasp.

Don’t worry the swelling will ease!
I had a Vespa and got rid of it, to uncomfortable and unsafe for me.

Martin Vespas are classic machines...
But I guess some like them and some don't I haven't been to the doctor because my arm didn't feel like it had a broken bone. It doesn't ache, but its just the swelling I need to manage.
