Rolex raffle at work

Well i have been inspired by my fellow TRF'ers here and me and a couple of the partners have decieded to give away a man's and a ladies rolex at our 20th annual xmas party this year, we have a total of 150 empolyees 30 is our support staff!

Here's the kicker only our support staff will qualify to enter the raffle, after all our associates make great salaries so we figured they could finance one if they want it.

Oscar (bodybump ) will most likely be helping me out with the men's rolex choices, but in all fairness if there's any other sellers on the forum please let me know.

I have a few ideas in mind for some choices below are some of the pics if you have suggestions forum please let me know and i do know that two of my empolyees are on this forum, you are not allowed to participate in this discussion...weigh in and yes i do have thick skin...

The AG 1680 an absolute classic.......

With that watch is in the raffle I'll cover all of your left over tickets....

Though the gold 1680 is a great watch most non-wis would more then likely want a new watch over a vintage(used) one.

Just a thought but ... perhaps something a little lower key? I don't know your office setting, but I imagine that support staff could be intimidated by any precious metal/bling. If it were me, I'd be happy with something stainless and the residual in cash.

I would say that it is best to have a well known model that are associated with Rolex at a Glance

A Brand New piece will be best IMHO.

I agree. Unless your employees are WISs, I'd go with a 16610 or a DJ. Both are identified as Rolexes even by non watch enthusiasts.

Guys again this is really helping me out, we are a family here at my business and it has been an outstanding year , i am weighing everyones opinion so please if you have more comments or some pics please let me see them , thanks again trf you guys are the best..

That's a great idea, just do it with the caveat that they can't sell it for a few years. I would hate to think of some pawn shop getting hold of this one for a few grand. You never know who has credit issues and a few grand might put stars in their eyes.

Well guys i'm in between meetings right now and here's how we are standing thus far.

Rolex-30%
Invicta-30%
Seiko-20%
Tag hauer-20%

I'm pushing for the yatchmaster but an SS/plat for the guys , but i am getting some resistance from one of the partners (he thinks it's a bit too much), details will be coming soon , we have to make this final to close our fiscal year , this is the last big ticket item the firm will be purchasing before the beginning of the the brand new fiscal year starting Nov. 1st, so keep your comments coming and thanks again trf family........

Well the decision has been made , as ceo of my company along with my partners we decided to pull out the watch raffle and instead give a gift a extra bonus check to our support staff , they have worked really hard this year and we applaud thier efforts in that regard , i know that i have some empolyees here on this forum that reads my threads so here is the leak, you will recieve a bonus plus an extra check this year....

I want to thank all of my TRF family for helping me with my deciesion....Thanks you guys are the best

I thought the gift watch was a great idea. Bonus checks are great but money flows out of pocket or is just saved. A watch is a tangible item that can be seen and felt and can be remembered years later as a reward for a job well done.

You know i was with the watch being the gift but we had some heated debates about this and took a vote in all fairness....I thought it was a great idea too and it's easy to just overule everybody and just do it but i do take others arguments into consideration..
