why does the clasp on a sub have holes when a watch like the daytona or DJ dont?

i love the sub but i dont like the holes. also - i would like the sub to have the ceramic bezel and better lume of the GMT II

Thanks!

They haven't updated the steel model on the Sub date just yet - wait 'til Basel next year, they'll be unveiling it then. It'll have a ceramic bezel, thicker lugs, maxi dial and hands, Glidelock clasp and solid links - whether the centre links will be polished or not, we don't know yet

Understandably - although the model will be unveiled in the Spring, it won't be until this time next year that the watch will actually reach ADs. I'd also anticipate the typical Rolex new-model surge, so unless you want to wait for waiting lists to clear, declare your interest now and be ahead of the game

Those little holes you speak of allow the wearer to adjust the bracelet a little more finely.

This may have something to do with the deployant clasp and the fact that it is designed to fit over a wet-suit in it's extended position.

Expect it to be a tad more than a GMT IIc in steel, they're normally about the same price. As for the Daytona, I can't see it being updated for the time being, it's already had it's mid life "facelift" with the fat hands and new clasp. The models most likely to be updated in addition to the Sub would be the Explorer and Explorer II
