Visited all the three places in May. None of the AD's had any SS pro watches. So enjoy your vacation and forget chasing them.

Trust me, all of them have SS sport models readily available, they just won’t sell it if you are not a VIP client of theirs.

Enjoy Spain! I’m stuck in the US waiting for my green card otherwise I would be sailing in Spain lol

In New York no, very large city, a lot of people with money and demand is crazy. Smaller cities you never know, I was in Israel last summer, walked into a Rolex store in Jerusalem with my friend, he walked out with brand new Pepsi on his wrist. In smaller cities you never know.

I was kidding, here in Barcelona I have been able to get almost all the sports Ss that I have, but you have to be a very good customer.

Yeah, don't drop that line with an AD! It'd be like trying to pick up the fittest bird in a club by saying that you didn't get laid in months and you're like a dog on heat.

Watch out in Barcelona if you’re wearing heavy equipment around your wrist.

And don’t bother even going inside AD’s lol

Got absolutely hammered drunk there about 7-8 years ago and last thing I remember was sitting in a doorway fast asleep drunk about 7am.

Bag stolen with £500 cash inside, 5 brand new Ralph Lauren polo tops inside with the tags still on, 3-4 expensive aftershaves, iPod and clothes.

What was the first thing I checked when my alcohol drowned brain woke up? My wrist. Thank Jesus I still had my Sub date on

Defo won't make that mistake twice.

Trip to Paris, Barcelona and Madrid, any Rolex Sports Steel Models?

There was nothing in Athens but the sales rep was nice.

Also nothing in Italy (Florence). Not sure about Rome as for 2 days the AD by my hotel was closed and this was during the week. I found that odd.

I made a video about it for all of you vacationers. It's in Spanish but don't worry, I made subtitles.

All humor aside, I have a purchase history with 4 of the 5 AD's in Madrid, all SS sports models. Quite a few in a short span of time. The keys to success are being 1. Local 2. Likable and 3. Lucrative. I can assure you there's zero chance they'll ignore their list of local repeat customers, retrieve a hot watch from the back and hand it to you, a visiting tourist.

Please switch off from the hunt at some point for your own sake and family's sanity. Build a solid local relationship where you live and you'll get what you want in time.

See the Daytona in my Avatar? Walked into a large international AD, bought a YM Rhodium. Next day had a question about it, so stopped back in and jokingly asked if he had received any Daytona’s during the night.

An hour later I walked out with it on my wrist after paying retail.

Yes it’s rare, but it can happen. And just from reading these forums, airport shops seem to the best chance of timing it just right to get one they just received because they don’t keep lists. Purely luck, but what’s the harm in asking?

So put all the American tourist sarcasm aside. It probably won’t happen, but if you don’t try, it definitely won’t happen.

Buy Rolex in your own country

Not everyone has a local AD. I discovered a tiny shop 50 miles from me carries Rolex. Very little inventory, very little chance of ever receiving a hot watch. The. next closest AD is 250 miles away. Hard to pop in regularly to chat, buy a watch, and return in a few months to say “thanks.”

Consider yourselves lucky if you have a local AD with which you build this relationship. That isn’t the norm, although it may seem to be amongst TRF members.

It may pay off to check at airports as we’ve seen a few people here who have lucked out

Madrid is 180 miles away from me currently, so I know what you mean about putting in the effort. I take the train once or twice a month to visit family there and stop in to say hello to my AD's. I'm moving there in a few weeks so I won't have to do that anymore, thankfully.

Dealer at Paris CDG said to me today they haven’t even seen a BLRO yet. They also claimed they’ve never sold a single white Daytona 116500LN, so there may have been a language barrier. I repeated “ever” a couple of times. They swore they’ve never gotten one. I was wearing mine and pointing at it at the time.

I doubt they’ve never ever sold one. Sounded fishy.

I've spoken to an AD last month. It is interesting that they said if they saw anyone wearing SS sport model, the chances they get another sport model is slim. Because the AD want to let those who not yet own a rolex to experience the sport model. I was like

From reading the forum and with my own travel I’d say we got it “better” in the IS compared to most other places.

I wish I knew not to wear my hulk to the AD. I tried on some watches and they gave me water out of a Rolex glass. I asked about getting a DJ41 fluted on jubilee and a 126710 BLNR, but they only had PM or two tone models. It seems like most ADs call their past clients when inventory arrives which is weekly. They are not sure what is arriving, which is hard to believe when you think logistics would track inventory. Hope to get a call in the future. The 126710 BLNR is going to be reserved for past clients, might get a chance at a DJ41.
