If you're buying because you can't get a BLRO, I wouldn't. There is simply no replacement for the "real Pepsi". Otherwise, it's a great watch and I love mine (no date issue, got it July 2018).

I love my Tudors (BB41, Ranger) I need to give them more wrist time (guilty) they are great quality tool watches. If your not 100% sure dont do it. I made that mistake a couple of months ago on an new Omega, thankfully I didn't buy it at a boutique but I still took a hit selling it.

Thank you all for the very balanced and honest comments.
Having spoken with Mrs.S, she likes the GMT, however....she also likes the Black Bay Bronze. I’ve not seen one in person but it does look quite smart. Having said that, the more I look at this GMT, the more it grows on me.

Anyone of us own a BB Bronze...? Do share your insights.

I would strongly advise buying the watch YOU want...

As for the GMT, I just took mine (w/bracelet) on it’s maiden voyage across time zones after picking it up on a whim a few weeks ago. I admit I was skeptical, also owning a 14060M and 114060. Despite the lack of Glidelock, the watch proved quite comfortable across a range on temperatures up to 95 degrees. The watch is really well balanced despite the thickness, and it’s extremely satisfying to adjust the hour hand independently once you arrive at your destination.

I think it’s a future classic.

Consider the price point and that of the Rolex GMT's. I love my Tudor GMT. The leather and fabric factory optional straps are great too.

I have the disc BB Bronze. It patinas quickly and I like the look:

I am over the moon and back with this one. It has been years since a watch really struck me (last time being a 3227-01 ingenieur). It is exceptionally well balanced for a modern watch.

It is not 5 digit slim, but it's also better than the black bay because of the underside bevels. I had a 5 digit seadweller at one point which for me was borderline unwearable. 16570 and gmt II are two sweets pot references for size, but given the 42+mm trend this 41mm iteration is one I will take in stride. Not to mention the much more balanced lume plots which in the case of maxi rolex looks almost ridiculous.

It is an amazing watch. Totally love mine. But if you already looked at it and weren't blown away I think you already answered your question and you should pass.

I own it on a bracelet. Between it and my DJ it’s always hard to decide which one to put on. I’ve had it for 10 months or so, and no date issue.

Had the opportunity to buy at a discount at airport, like the dial but the case just felt too thick, especially on the straps. Too bulky for me.

Got to admit, I have the GMT and it gets the 2nd amount of wrist time, my daily is my Omega Seamaster 300, in comparison to the Seamaster the GMT is a chunky unit.

I had zero interest in Tudor until I was offered the Black Bay GMT by my Rolex (and Tudor) AD. Wasn't sold on the snowflake hands and nearly didn't buy the GMT, but I really loved the rest of the look and the matte dial is class. I decided to buy it - probably because I knew it was a long wait-list watch and so I could easily sell if I just didn't get on with it. Well, that was around 6 months ago and I still have the GMT and have added another 8 Tudor to my collection since then. I am now a huge fan (clearly).

And no date issue on my GMT. So far at least.

Saw the watch in person on a bracelet. The Tudor GMT is a handsome watch and if Tudor doesn’t come out with an updated North Flag next year, I will probably add this to the collection instead. I have also seen the Black Bay bronze and bronze just doesn’t do anything for me.

I was offered mine along with the BLRO in 2018 on the strap. Decided to buy it and it honestly has had more wrist time than my other watches and I did not see that coming. Comments above have already given wonderful description of the watch. Here is a pic of my daily’s to give you comparison next to a SubC. Good luck sir.

Looks good on with you the bracelet. If this is an either/or situation and you’re only getting one watch, what purpose do you see this one having in your collection?

It’s a solid, no fuss every day piece or a nice pop of color if you usually wear something black. If you already have both of those covered, I’d pass.

Tudor GMT: contemplating

The Tudor GMT is a really well designed watch and, I think, well balanced despite the many comments regarding thickness. It feels very solid in-hand and makes a great casual watch. I’d highly recommend it on the bracelet.

I agree with another poster--this is a nice watch. I've handled it. However, it's not a replacement for the Pepsi (if that is your intention), which I do own and can confirm.

Same here, but otherwise a great watch in many respects.

If you don't 100% love the watch though, I'd re-consider, or at least think on it some more. With it being a milestone occasion, it might become difficult to flip due to sentimental reasons.

Having slept on it, I really like the GMT!! Sometimes it helps to look at the watch in consideration with a "fresh" pair of eyes, which is exactly what I did this morning. The video and photos I captured on my phone really show-off that bezel and dial. The more I see it, the more I like it.
I really appreciate the comments / feedback. As significant as the birthday gift is, I must buy the watch I want. I'll give the BB Bronze the consideration due, however, as it's a 43mm I fear it will be a tad too large.

Watch this space...

I’ve had mine, on bracelet, for about 3 months and I wear it every other day (alternate with my Explorer 39mm). I really like this watch and no issues.

Funny you mention the Explorer 39mm, that is the other watch I am considering. Is the 214270 worth the $2k spread between the GMT?

Two completely different watches, IMHO. Exp I is time only, which is fine, but having a watch with date and GMT complication is pretty useful. Exp I will be lighter and possibly more comfortable depending on your wrist shape and size, but the dial wears larger to my eyes and is a bit flashy. The Arabic numerals on the 214270 are too much for me personally, and as more of a purist, I’d go for a 1016 as the ultimate Explorer.

Best bet is to try both, however, I realize that’s not possible for most folks.

I’m in a very similar position. Milestone fast approaching. Love this watch. My only hesitation is there are ones I love more - just not able to locate at AD in time given this market currently. Birthday aside, it’s a fantastic piece imo. Best of luck!
