The 1593J was given to the Colgate Palmolive President Charles R. Vint, who worked within the company from 1903 to 1953. Charles "Charlie" R. Vint was born in Sarnia, Ontario, in 1887. Charlie began his entrepreneurial life shining shoes; selling newspapers; and touring the neighbourhood with a box camera, taking baby pictures, and printing, mounting and selling them to parents. He also learned to play the piano, so that he could accompany the new silent movies, when they came to town.

At age sixteen, Charlie began working for the Palmolive Company, as an office boy. Still, the boss forty-one years later; Mr. Vint retired as President and Managing Director of Colgate-Palmolive Limited. In Toronto. He attended to the business of Colgate; sat on the Board of Directors of other corporations and organizations, such as the Association of Canadian Advertisers; co-founded the Bureau of Broadcast Management; was a member of the Masonic Order, and a member of the Kiwanis Club. Above all, Mr. Vint was a devoted Christian Scientist. The family were members of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Toronto. This city and life in general, had been good to Charlie. "I felt I should do something in return," he said. So, in gratitude for what Christian Science meant to him, in 1965 Mr. Vint created a non-profit, charitable, and private foundation call the C.R. Vint Foundation.

The watch has been fully serviced and restored by patek Philippe. It costed 4500 USD and took 18 months for the service to be complete, but the work is completely outstanding.
