Entry Level Rolex
What watch do you consider is rolex's entry level piece? And would you consider that a great first rolex?

I love the Air King 116900. Its sporty, but you can also wear it with business attire and its a good price for what you get. And if you dont like the air king, the explorer 1 is a great option as well. I like the more sporty Air king though but its personal preference imo

The Oyster Perpetual 39 is a great entry level Rolex. Very versatile and can dress up or down easily.

No such thing as a entry level Rolex as they are all same quality, only difference movements whether SS of precious metal and price.

I agree with Peter. There is not really an "entry level" model, unless you are basing that on prices alone. I would recommend a DJ with a fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. It checks all the boxes and can easily be your forever watch.

Getting the least expensive watch that happens to have the name “Rolex” on it is not the way I would go about it.

Mine was the OP39. Many people generally start with a DJ I think, unless they're a WIS.

Splitting hairs I know, but Not sure I necessary agree with the term “entry level” in this market, I’d say more set a budget and see what you like In that range.
As for lower priced watches in the brand’s lineup, I personally like the Explorer and the Oyster Perpetual 39mm. |

Any one of them can be a first, likely won't be the last. I think where you get in is a matter of budget, research, patience, taste, and luck.

Buy the watch you like, not a brand, you will enjoy the watch all the more if it is one you like and not one that you bought because you wanted to get into the brand.
If the truth be known then one of the cheapest Rolex watches is the Oyster Perpetual 26 priced at Ł3700, would that suit you?

Best pricing is on the OP34 or OP36. Anything larger costs more.

The entry level Rolex is the one you want to own and enjoy. How much it costs is down to the individual.

Most SS sport are entry level according to Rolex. It’s just the demand that elevated them, and increased their market price. It’s all because of the Chinese, and grays hoarding and flippers. AK,OP,MIL, Explorer, Cheaper SS DJs are entry level. A great first Rolex among those would be an SS oyster or jubilee DJ.

The OP is a great watch. Even after a Sub, DJ and an ExII, I still want an OP.
