While unconscionable, the sales person simply preyed on your desire for exclusivity and created a sense of urgency, where in fact, there ought to have been no such urgency.

They behaved in a typical (and poor) manner no doubt. Your watch is still 1 of 500(?) it seems. That's pretty limited. It doesn't mean that a lot of those 500 aren't still floating however. If you like the watch, you're winning. If you bought it based on it being the last piece alone, what difference does it make if it is the first or last piece of the 500?

Lesson- buy a watch if you really like it, to hell with the rest lol.

I saw the watch and was a fan from when it was introduced in Basel World. I have been collecting watches for several years and purchase only those pieces I truly desire regardless of resale value. So no, I did not purchase it because it was the last one So no lesson needed to be learned on that score. My point again is that such sales tactics should not be employed at a manufacturer’s boutique. It is shortsighted because it risks alienating collectors such as myself who buy multiple watches. But again that is just my humble opinion.

Big congrats on such a beauty!

Look at it from an other perspective. If you hadn't been told that 'last' story more than likely you walked out the store sans watch.
And maybe you would forget about the watch because you had other things on your mind. And when you finally realized you wanted it they were all gone. And than you also feel bad. Could be no? Just enjoy it and let it go. IMO.

BTW, I love your attitude of buying watches you like regardless of future value. This forum has transformed in an 'investment' forum.
The resale and/or "hard to get" is the only thing that matters here.
