That's right, up for sale is my Eterna Super Kontiki PROTOTYPE. This watch was being taken to watch sellers around the country for display prior to the 1973 super kontiki release. I just happened to be at one of these final events and asked to buy the watch. Surprisingly the Eterna rep sold it to me. It comes with both leather and mesh band and is in excellent condition.

If you are wondering how to ID this prototype, it is simple. In the picture of the caseback is the model number and serial. The model number on this reads 1273.00. The actual model number for production models became 1273.41. Then there is the serial. All Eterna prototypes get the same serial number, 444.888. Not sure why. The linked article discusses an eterna proto chrono and it has the same serial.

extremely rare watch with both bracelet and leather. The mesh bracelet is very heavy duty, nicest mesh I have seen.

up again and for those that asked why a different trade value, here is why; When someone offers me a trade that they have not even tried to sell, and they place their ideal value on the trade, it is almost always not correct and is way to high. Hence the trade value.
