This "cheap" watch has ruined me --> Oceanus
Picked up this Casio Oceanus last month and have been thoroughly impressed.
The good: Perfect size (width, thickness) Superlight Great bracelet and fit Cool features (solar, atomic sync, time zone changing, perpetual calendar) Completely unbelievable finishing at this price Not very likely to see anyone else wearing one Cheap The bad: I'm not 100% sold on the blue accents The lume isn't as good as Seiko I did actually have to pay something for it I couldn't take the (perfectly acceptable) daily loss from my 6R15 Seiko anymore, after a month it was really off; I knew I needed to try quartz. I was thinking hard about a GS 9F, but wanted to give this one a go since the reviews are so great and it was allegedly such a cheap stunner. Everything I read was true. Somehow I have almost no cosmetic wear on it after a month or so (admittedly I'm careful with my stuff). I wear it snug above the bone and it stays put and is easy to forget. The case and bracelet shine like a $5k watch, and the time is spot-on every day. There's a part of me that wants to stop buying watches here and now, when this one looks so good, performs so well, and costs so little. I'm sure I'll get over it, but I can imagine a scenarios where I live with this as my one and only. |
