To the unrefined, perhaps these references seem “old. From a design standpoint, so few products can claim to as long lasting and iconic as Rolex’s DJ and DD lineups. Perhaps, Porsche’s 911 or an Eames chair. The list is short.

I guess I'm getting old. Actually when I was young er my first two Rolex were DJ36, the first was a TT on jubilee, imagine that. I really love my new 41 and am thinking of adding another on a jubilee to mix it up. Azzurro or white, love romans..

Always makes me smile when guys qualify their manhood by wearing a watch that is 4mm larger.

Well that’s your perception on the Dd and DJ but I’m happy for the change of heart

I used to hate DD and DJ...

The watch is a success and proven.

In any case. Modern 6 digits look nothing like their 5 digit counterparts. I actually really like the Rolex classic line. No need for a DJ but hope to pick up a DDII some day.
at lease he is not wearing the G-shock...

because before I brought my 16610...I really considered avoid buying Rolex. I wanted to buy IWC P7...and then my friend keep telling me do not buy IWC...

During my starting phase of watch collecting, I used to have the perception of DD & DJ being a model for older folks as well as all TT version. My younger colleagues in 20s had this views too but they hasn't acquire their first luxury piece yet. As I approaching my late 30s, my views changed and see DJ & DD as another interesting model to include in my collection. I have also started to appreciate TT for Sub, gmt and blackbay.

It's an old ladies watch. The day I buy my wife mens-sized DJ or a DD, is the day we officially stop having sex.

I’m not sure I agree with it’s ‘an old ladies watch’. Women of all ages have embraced the bigger, bulkier, men’s sized gold watches, especially the recognized premium brands like Rolex.

I think the DD and the older 116334-hidden clasp one are really beautiful bracelet, must cop one of those in the future!

Not many liked the hulk or batman a few years ago either... go figure

C'mon guys.

Everyone ages, everyone grows older.

The mirror will probably cease to be your friend as time goes on, as well.
