Thoughts

So I purchased a beautiful DJ41 in rhodium with Jubilee from my local AD last year. They’ve been sending me store credits to purchase more jewelry ever since. I plan to buy an engagement ring in my near future. Should I leverage the ring purchase for a new BLNR or BLRO?

Do you think that could actually help get my hands on one of these hot models? I would not plan on reselling it, just don’t want to play grey prices.

Thanks guys!

Rob

I'd give it a shot. Diamond sales are huge profit makers in the jewelry biz.

Absolutely you should! You already have purchase history with these dealers and it can only help.

Will only be a “no”, so since you are getting married this will get you used to hearing it

I think you’ll get BLNR at minimum.

My AD sells watches, Rolex plus a selection of other brands including Hublot and Cartier, they also do a wide range of jewellery, anything I buy helps me secure my next hard to get watch. AD's will usually reward a regular customer with help them get the piece they want.

If a waiting list is 3-4 years for X, your AD may be able to get that down to 12-18 months if you spend your money in store, if you spend a lot that waiting time could be reduced further.

If your AD doesn't budge on waiting times, find another AD to spend your hard earned cash in.

Also, it may be worth suggesting that the purchase of the engagement ring would be nice if you had your engagement present (BLNR/BLRO) at the same time, some AD's may be willing to help with that type of romantic gesture.

Thank you. My future wife suggested buying the GMT as my wedding ring. I don’t care for wearing rings so I’m hoping to position the scenario as a win/win
