A leather strap on a dive watch seems to me to be an oxymoron.

Doesn't look bad, just not my preferred color combo.

Honestly, I prefer the factory bracelet. There’s something about aftermarket straps on modern references that just don’t look right to me.

How does this look?

Doesn't look bad, but little too thick as said above. I tried recently, for the first time after 24 years of ownership, an Everest black leather band on my 16610 and liked it!

Wow, this is a very well conceived and executed design. Love lugs part. Neat.

No. The only straps that work on the sub imo are rubber, NATO or an MN strap. All of which work well.but I don’t like that combo personally. It’s a shame to have a nice oyster bracelet in a drawer somewhere. But you’re the one wearing the watch. It’s about what you like.

I feel the issue here is the strap. It's too thick, the stitching is too loud and the buckle is too big. Take a look at Hodinkee for some good looking leather straps.

How does this look?

It’s your watch, you accessorize it how you want to. Me personally think that modern Rolex look much better on their OEM bracelets.

The NATO strap and leather options do not look proportionate to the case of the six digit Rolex at all.

I have worn my Subs on NATO’s and black carbon but never on a brown strap.

But if it floats your boat.

I like the idea but maybe another thinner strap

Sorry... love the ceramic Subs, but they are made for the Oyster... if you want a strap watch find a Speedy or go vintage.

I could never find a leather strap that looked good (to me) on my 5 digits. When I take a break from the bracelet now I go with Erika's MN or sailcloth.

Beautiful strap. Perfect for the Sub. Like the texture and thickness of it. Looks and feel as substantial as the watch.

Looks ok to me. I tried many combinations on my Sub, but came to the conclusion that the oyster is the only one I enjoy wearing.

In terms of straps, it looks better than most. However, those lugs make anything but original bracelet look pretty terrible.

True that.

And a watch that works with leather or metallic is a sign of a great watch design.

A bit too thick and stitching calls attention away from the dial and case. A shade darker wouldn't hurt either.

It's a dive watch and that doesn't look like a strap anyone would take near water.

The color and style look great.
I take the SD off the bracelet all the time.
However, the leather is way to thick for me. You can see how ridiculously fat it is at the buckle. I wouldn’t be happy with that at all. Some vendors can make you a fatter width at the lugs if that’s what you really want and thin out for the remainder to be more wearable. Perhaps go custom.

I’d love to see some examples of your SD on other straps if you’ve got any photos you could share.

Not a fan of ceramic on leather. OK on rubber with the proper strap. Looks at RubberB or Everest!!!

Just...kinda weird to see something made to be submerged water being paired with something that shouldn’t be in the water...just so off-balanced..
