779 dlc

Hi everyone... I have been eyeing the 779 for a while... the only thing that concerned me was the DLC...never had a dlc watch and not sure how they will hold up over time. I was looking at some vids and seems that dlc is pretty strong against scratches...but I have Also read that over time certain part will wear thin? Anyone have any pictures or comments from their panerai DLC watches?

Just know DLC, is diamond like coating. This coating has a really nice pencil grey look; but indeed it’s a coating so nics and scratches cannot be polished. You tend to see areas of wear around the bezel and lugs due to strap
Changes. I like the ceramic for the matte black look but you then have to worry about dropping the ceramic case as it could crack. Maybe Carbotech is the ultimate material

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I am still on the fence... since what I really want is the PAM 1058... but was eyeing the 779. Still the DLC was a big drawback as I don't like coatings coming off since there is no way to repair it...
