2019 incomings!
TLDR; Fortunate and lucky to have had the opportunity to pick up a couple of pieces in 2019.
Normally more of a lurker, but figured I should post some belated incomings. Picked up a 116520 as a milestone piece earlier this year. My interest gravitated towards AP as the Rolex market was just too crazy! I absolutely loved the finishing and look of the royal oak. My target was the 15450 blue dial, but not much luck in New York as it’s a tough market. Dropped by the AP boutique in the city a couple of times but didn’t feel welcomed. In October I pulled the trigger on a 14790 blue dial as an engagement gift to myself. The 36 mm case size was perfect for my small wrists and thin thanks to the JLC movement. While traveling overseas with the fiancée I figured I would try my luck once again. Walked into a boutique, explained my situation and had a genuinely nice conversation about the brand, watches, etc. Boy, am I glad I walked in that day. A couple of days passed and I was asked to come in. I was presented with the 38mm 26315st ruthenium dial... an absolute beauty. It has become a struggle choosing between the Daytona and the ROC for wrist time. December swings by and I got the call...still pinching myself as it feels like a dream. Just wanted to say don’t give up, there are still stores out there that genuinely care. Faith in the AP boutique experience has been restored. Happy holidays to you all and thank you for reading up to this point. I’ll stop rambling and let the photos do the talking. How do you like the 26315? I’m debating between the white/blue and gray. Tried on the white/blue last week and loved the size.

The size is perfect for me as it’s really close to the Daytona. I was not a fan of the ruthenium dial for the Royal oak. However, for the ROC it really pops against the sub dials. ROC can easily be dressed up or down. The white/blue dial is definitely a sportier look, but you can’t go wrong with either one. AP knocked it out of the ball park with this one! Nice set and really like the grey/ruthenium on the chrono, wish they had that option when I bought mine, was all white then.
