Trade advice please

I have a Daytona 116509 with the steel and black dial which I really like and am getting a sub so I have something more rugged for holidays etc. My AD says he’ll have one for me by March.
I do like the sub a lot but I don’t have the biggest wrists and am tempted to go for a 5 digit Kermit to get the old case but maxi dial (No box/papers but wholly reputable dealer).

I can’t really justify paying the extra though so am thinking of trading my Daytona for an earlier version and have found one with the panda dial and arabics instead of batons (with box and papers).
So for the same cash outlay as a new sub (ND) I’d have a sub that I’d be slightly happier with and a Daytona that’s a bout 6 years older than mine. Is that a good trade?
My Daytona:

The one I’d switch to:

Can't speak to the value on the trade, but I much prefer your current Daytona to the racing dial you're contemplating.

I wouldn’t trade the steel dial.

That’s 2 against and none for. I guess I better keep saving for the Kermit then. Thanks guys

Definitely no go on this trade. Your 116509 is a very desirable (and gorgeous) configuration. That dial is wonderful.

The other one is an older version, with a dial that just doesn’t compare (imho). It likely has the smaller clasp as well, if that matters to you.

I’d say stick with what you have and wait for the sub. I’d bet it will be quicker than they say

The one watch I would not buy without box and papers is the 16610LV. Unless verified by RSC, It's difficult to prove that is in fact a real LV, and real dealers have been mistaken before. But if we continue then look at the values of each piece individually and see if you have some balance. I'm in the U.S. so conservatively the no box, no papers LV $11K the racing dial 116509 $23K the new steel dial $35K? I feel like you are overvaluing the the sub LV and the 116509 racing dial. I like to trade pieces and change the collection, but I wouldn't do this in this case because your current Daytona is too nice and it is a current model, and I would rather wait for a 6 digit sub, to add in. Shouldn't be too long a wait for that sub.

Your current Dayton is very nice but I would trade/sell the existing Daytona to acquire the Panda racing dial as it is awesome and somewhat unique...it screams Daytona...regarding the Kermit good choice over reg. Sub C, as I believe it will continue to be more collectable, an important point though...I would get one with a full set - you will not regret the premium when the time comes to sell. IMO

No,I wouldn't do it.

Rather keep the Daytona and ad the kermit .I would stick to one with box and papers .

I'd stick with what you have with one caveat: if you read the people telling you to stick with what you have and you're disappointed by it (or arguing against it in your mind), you've probably already decided or, at least, determined your preference, and you should go with that.

Go with the watch that you really want and will enjoy. Me personally, I would keep the current Daytona you have with steel dial. That dial is absolutely amazing.

No go, and if you get the Kermit, please try to get one with the full set.

Nope, bad deal unless Mk 1 Kermit full set ...maybe, but your baton index is much cleaner and less cluttered than the older racing variant.

I think the steel dial has greater upside in the long term. Since the kermit is something to wear, just settle for a 10,000 lesser example without a paper. Shouldn't be more than that in my opinion.

I personally like the older Daytona dial better. If you like the Kermit better, and all watches are solid/clean pieces....I’d go for it. All personal preference...get what you’ll enjoy best!

Another NO vote. Keep what you have for now. I much prefer your Daytona to the one you’re considering.

Don't even consider doing this. Keep your beautiful Daytona, get the Sub from your A/D and if you don't like it trade if for something else.

I’ve had that Arabic Racing Daytona dial before - too busy and left the stable within 6 months of getting it.

Absolutely not on the orphan Kermit - just my own suspicions.

No way! The Daytona is a great holiday watch. Lol. I would just wear that on holiday and wait to add sub. Love that dial!

I would go with the deal that nets you the watch you like the most out of all of them.

Prefer the current—also the newer bracelets and clasps wear much better than older.

Good luck with sourcing a genuine 16610LV, it is a minefield if you don't like paying top dollar.
Excellent choice keeping your current Daytona.
