Increase doesn't impact my buying decision. Also, aren't these increases what help drive value of Rolex's up over time? In addition, to demand and consistent high quality builds...

Increase wont affect crap. The increase in AU brings it more inline with the actual selling price in USD.

Its just bringing the gap closer to minimize the flippers.

Yes. Price increase will affect my buying decision. I need to be choosy on the Rolex models I need to get moving forth.

It may. The $9250 I was prepared to pay for the Pepsi is now $9700. $450 increase. No big deal really, but it is helping to push me more towards an Omega or Zenith. Plus the wait is making me lose my wood for the Pepsi.

The price increase stung me a bit, as I have 2 PM pieces on order, but I will still be buying.

Always worth an ask to keep 2019 prices, even if they say no. GL!

Sorry to hear, but glad you asked! This happened to me a few years back. They didn't honor the prior year price, but at pick-up gave me a free $300/$400 watch winder. I hope they do something. If not, at least you are getting the watches you wanted. Best of luck with your new pieces, when they arrive!

No. I want a YG DD 36 and still plan on buying one with the price increases. Price when up minimally in my view.

It’ll push me more towards gray for any PM pieces. WG DD is listed as just under $40K on Rolex.com. That’s a psychological barrier for me.

SS won’t make a difference.

The Canadian increases won’t deter many, especially on the stainless steel.

How do you figure? The 114060 went up 8.2% in Canada... pushing $10,500 after taxes now in most provinces. There are LOTS of options at that price point to choose from. I think that price is absurd for what that watch is...

I was looking at getting a DJ36 or Date 34 next, I’m likely going to look at getting an Aqua Terra again. I no longer buy/sell/trade, I simply buy what I like and hold so I don’t care about the value retention frankly.

That kind of increase does not suddenly make the price absurd.

I’m sure by the end of the year we will know if many, not by implication the few as yourself, continue to buy.

Go see my WRUW post today, I’m very happy I didn’t get yet another Rolex and it is the second Omega I have purchased in the last few months

Yeah I’m going to look at the Aqua Terra next, had the Skyfall AT8500 a few years back and it’s one of a few watches I regret selling. Will look at the white 38.5 AT on bracelet.

FWIW, I thought the Sub 114060 was overpriced as it was prior to the increase lol ... the increase just reinforced my belief is all.

The 38.5 Aqua Terra is a terrific size and I really like the case design. Omega is a truly fantastic manufacturer, I can’t say enough about them. Mine are their entry level models but the quality has not been compromised

Probably not but if was considering a Datejust style watch I would lean even more towards Grand Seiko.

I may no be wealthy enough to afford a Daytona or BLNR like it's a pack of gum, but I can still afford the few hundred bucks in increase.

Why would the price matter on something that isn’t readily available for purchase?

Might as well raise the prices 25% and release more watches.

When the price increase was announced, I cancelled my TT Sky Dweller order and bought a SS one on the grey market. The grey premium I paid has been significantly softened by the today's price hike on the Sky Dweller models. I wouldn't have done this if I could have got listed at an AD for a SS Sky Dweller.

I'm still on my AD's list for a TT CHNR. The price rise makes it look less attractive to me, but give it a year or more and I'll probably get used to the difference. I'm not expecting to hear anything before 2022..

Either you pay more on gray for it right away. Or hope to get it at your AD. Anyway price doesn’t matter anymore. It went up anyway. Happy new year to everyone lol time to buy AP

AP went up too. The 15450 went from 16k to over 19k in one full swoop

I saw that and believe my mint+ 15300st will now get that much more

The only AP RO that can touch it, imho, is the 15202 for twice the price and half the robustness.

People don’t typically stop drinking when the government raise taxes.

Maybe not but people look for cheaper alternatives, that's why hundreds of Pubs have closed in the UK in the last 20 years.
Also many people have stopped smoking due to increasing taxes.

All I see is bravado and hubris from Rolex and some of their customers who seem to be keen to buy at any price.
Rolex isn't a special company, the market will determine whether they have made the right call by increasing their prices.
I am sceptical that many Watch enthusiasts will put up with the price gouging, waiting lists and AD's trying to get people to buy jewellery or less sought after models to get on a list.

People will continue buying. Psychology 101. Increase price, and make it harder to obtain. Result - increased demand. It is crazy, but that’s how many people are wired up.

I think you’re right about watch enthusiasts, though. There are many other great brands out there and real enthusiasts will see this.
