This is the new model DJ36 on my wrist, which is 7.25-7.5". I don't feel it is too small. It's sometimes better to wear the watch than have the watch wear you.

Truth be told the 36mm dj looked and felt ok and is also several dollars cheaper.

Has anyone purchased a 36mm DJ and regretted recently?

Below is picture of it next to my Submariner

DJ36 looks perfect on you & that one is fantastic!

The Sub looks like it wears a little big on you IMHO, but a 5 digit would probably be perfectly proportioned (my preference, not necessarily yours.)

BTW, I wear from 34mm to 42mm, so I wear quite a wide size variance as well.

Two different watches for two different purposes. Sub is a tool watch, rugged and bigger. so as to be more visible underwater and to be able to operate bezel with gloves on. DJ is a dress watch meant to look elegant. That's why I prefer the DJ36 over the DJ41 -- the 41 almost looks like it's trying to be a tool watch, which it clearly is not! Dress watches should be smaller, slimmer, in my opinion.

36mm is very sweet for me. It is just classic and comfy. I had 4 DJ 36mm so far, enjoyed all of them greatly. I moved to a DD 36mm.....I never considered a larger DJ or DD.

36mm looks very good. The smooth bezel with the jubilee is where it’s at. And in this new model the bracelet is even more pronounced. I love it.

DJ36 on my 7.5" wrist. Most comfortable watch I've owned. Easy on the eyes, too.

wearing my DD36 made me realize how disproportionate my 40mm watches look on my 6.75" wrist. I still like to wear them, but definitely have a much better appreciation for the 36 than in the past.

The sub looks too big for you. DJ is the better of the pair.

Another 7.5 wrist here and I’d only consider the 36. It’s the perfect size for the style of watch.

The 36 DJ looks great.

I got one a few months ago and it’s the most comfortable and versatile watch I’ve owned. Could definitely be a one watch solution. I find the oyster and smooth bezel combo helps there.

I like the 36 mm Date Just. Looks like it fits your wrist well. I also think that the Submariner looks good. It does not have to either or, you can own both and check a lot of boxes.

Tremendous Feedback here! I agree, the 36 feels good on, looks proportionate, classy, dressy and sporty all in one.

I sincerely disagree. I recently bought a black dial fluted bezel in black dial variant and have been in love with it ever since.

I firmly believe you should always go for the fluted bezel when buying a DJ.

Each to his own I suppose.

Ignorance is very daring.
I bet a lot of Porsche owners have made equivalent comments.

But the Porsche 718 doesn't have a better engine than the 911, but the Datejust does have a more modern and better movement than the Submariner.

How is the DJ any less iconic than the sub?

Considering it was introduced 6 years before the first Submariner? And considering it has been on the wrist of REAL world leaders and other notables from the arts and sports communities.

I would say the iconic status of the DJ36 is pretty unassailable.

I agree the domed bezel oyster combo is killer and the most versatile.

I got a similar watch - DJ36 with white dial, domed bezel, and oyster bracelet. But I kind of wish I had gotten the oyster bracelet. I think it is more dressier, and is tied to the DJ historically since it was created for the first DJ.
