I would be cautious the submariner has the pearl at the 12 position at top of bezel centered in the V. This one is low and out of the lines of the V, I could be incorrect especially if it's an older model.

I have the same reference, I would never have got it except for two things...

I knew the seller
It was a complete set.

Full set or RSC service cert. would be a must for me considering the premium for that model.

Logic dictates that this would be a black sub with green bezel unless proven otherwise.

Not sure what “logic” you are going by... I would stay statistically there are more genuine 16610LVs out there than there are 16110LN with both a replaced MAXI dial AND green bezel.

Nonetheless OP, if the seller isn’t someone you know personally or one of the super trusted TRF sellers, then it will pay to be skeptical - not saying you should give up on this one if the price is right, but would want some authentication , be it a trusted watchmaker opening the case, or from RSC.

Ask your self this. Why is there no papers considering the reference ? Run! Without papers it's a 16610 mod to look like a LV !

The "problem" with Kermit is that it's just a green insert instead of black ! The bezel are easily changed, and many do.

Apart from an official reseller, and even an authentication by Rolex, I will not buy!

So without papers you have to forget.
There is also the risk of false, so many and better and better imitated, it is very risky…

This is where we are, you can have a true false, and a false false !
Full set, papers (with same serial number) and Rolex authentication.

couple hundred bucks without papers/box.
Otherwise - I can give you some places in Bali and Thailand that will do this exact same thing for about $100US.

Actually box and papers are a must.
I wouldn't trust any of these certificates..

And a whole complete set always feel better. It might be a bit more expensive, but worth it!

Those that mention ‘box’ and papers are foolish. Boxes are generic.

This is a reference that I would need to have a complete set and a well know and Trusted Seller. I have purchased watches before without box and papers and have never had an issue. But on a collectible piece that brings a premium and costs a lot I would not do it. Find a complete set and save yourself the extra possible headaches and cost. Good luck.
