The sub will be discontinued, and the SD43 will replace it.

The SD43 will come in full gold, TT Blue sunburst, and eventually a SD43 Hulk...LOL

The serial number of the new would most likely be different. Does this reset my wait to zero again?

Anything could happen. Tudor discontinued the Submariner years ago, it became the Hydronaut and so on..

Rolex could do the same and replace it a new but similar watch.. who knows!!?!?

Expect the new 32xx movement with 70h of power reserve, maybe some aesthetic changes but nothing more.

Yes, this is true. Aliens are coming, and all steel are needed to make bullets, airplanes, tanks and subs (The Rolex Subs steel, I have heard is going to this last one). That's the real reason why Rolex is stopping SS watches, including Subs.

Are you asking seriously. First, what's your source, please don't say an AD said. It's important to understand that the Datejust and Submariner watches pretty much have made Rolex the company they are.
It's akin to saying that Ford will discontinue the F150 or Mustang.

If taken literal as a reference, then yes it's quite plausible that the current reference 116610 will be discontinued only to continue as a 126610.
Just like the 16610 before it and the 16800 and the 5512 going back to the original 62xx series.

But the dive watch with the name Submariner will continue for as long as Rolex continues.

I was told late last year by a family friend who is a jeweller/grey-dealer that he had been told, on good authority, that the Submariner line is being discontinued.

I can't ever imagine Rolex doing that !
