Good Morning/afternoon/evening all,
thank you for letting me join this august forum.I have been hanging on the outside for some years reading most posts in my attempt to learn more about Rolex watches.I own many watches but only 3 Rolex.
Some questions if I may, two weeks after getting my Submariner back from the RSC, I scratched to bezel rather badly, I wish to replace it and will but would like to know can I change the bezel colour, from its current black to say either a blue or gree one?
I am also having trouble with the cyclops eye, I done like it at all, is it possible to get a flat glass for it?
Thank you for your help
Iain

Welcome.

Rolex does not mix bezel colors on the Sub models.

no option on the crystal either, it must stay true to that reference, thus no way to modify bezel or crystal or anything else through Rolex. You'd have to do something custom which I would definitely not recommend.

The cyclops can be removed, but Rolex won't do it.

Well, on second thought, you won't want to remove the cyclops if there is non-reflective material underneath.

welcome to the forum, there are some features on the watch you should find a way to get along with, such as the cyclops.

Do you need the date? You could sell/trade yours for a 14060 or 114060.

Look at the 16600 SD, perfect watch, IMO.

Welcome to official membership on the forum!

As you can tell from the responses thus far, Rolex won't alter the watch with a different color bezel or remove a cyclops. However, a watchmaker can do that for you. There are some very conservative Rolex fans here, so many will warn you against doing alterations, especially because it can negatively affect the value of the watch, especially if any damage is done. They are looking out for you.

However, if maintaining the watch's original value isn't super important to you, I say modify it to your heart's content. It's your watch - make it your own. Just realize many buyers will not want to buy an altered Rolex.

Also, Rolex will not service a modified watch.

Consider the Tudor Black Bay range of watches. There are different bezel colors and no cyclops.

A friend of mine had the cyclops removed and no issues with non-reflective coating underneath. I think the jeweler uses a razor and small tap from a mini mallet and off it went. Something like that.

What I'm referring to is the fact that when a cyclops that the non-reflecting, the film is left on the crystal. That may be able to be removed with a razor blade also, but I seem to recall that there is a problem with that. If not, then there would be no reason not to remove the cyclops, if one so chooses.
