listing text:

This is a relist due to a deadbeat buyer. It sold for $1007.00 after some active bidding at the end (I had expected closer to $1250.00). I bought this watch about six years ago and really enjoyed it. About eight months ago I had a new movement, except for the flywheel, installed to improve the timing. Now I need the money and need to reduce my collection. Clean case, crystal, and normal face for late 60's. The minute hand was replaced and actually is great at night since it shines brighter than the other markers. 42mm across including the crown, 13mm thick. Have not had waterproof tested, so would recommend before submerging. New leather band accents the watch style. Bezel like new and moves freely. Watch keeps good time and should last for years with the replaced movement. I don't know the exact movement, but the watchman told me it was the same design. Crown has the logo. This is a great keepsake.

I have a number of questions regarding this watch so I refer you to the questions/reponses. I bought the watch over six years ago as all original. It has been suggested to me that it better described as "composite" of the period. I only know that the replaced movement was an original Tudor; the replaced movment is a generic of the same style with the original flywheel (due to the cost of repair/replacement). The face shows some blemishes as seen in the picrtures and the second had was replaced at the same time due to missing luminance. I am not an expert, but the watchman who replaced the movement never suggested that it was anything, but original. I would expect that a watch from the 60's would need some repair/replacement which I performed most economically. I do not wish to misrepresent in anyway so look closely and you decide. I only know that it looks good for the age and keeps good time with the new movement.thanks.

One of the bidders has forwarded me information that the case is either a newer Rolex (not Tudor) as suggested by the serial numbers off the case that I sent him. Again, I do not want anyone to be misled as I believed this watch to be absolutely original except for the repairs I had done. This is a beautiful watch which for all practicle purposes runs great and looks correct, but not being a specialist, but only a collector, I need to sell it as a composite of newer/older parts with the original integrity. I need to say though, that not even the watch repairman who specializes on Rolex/Tudor repairs noticed anytlhing not right with the watch though I hadn't specifically asked him to check numbers, etc. It looks correct! Thanks.
