Wandered into an AD
Happened to have a couple extra hours in Dublin, Ireland. It was either the Guinness tour or walk through the city center. I just had to take a gamble and see the local Rolex AD figuring I would only see mainly barren displays...boy was I surprised at the vast amount of brands in one location. No sport models on display but a ton of stock/brands to look through. The YG Omega is one of 57.
A few I happened to fancy, which one would you get? Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk |

I've been there and I must say, a pint of Murphys at an old pub there really hit the spot for me

You guys are good! I was in the store for about 2 hours debating between the Patek or the DD40 + PAM 927 (on the left of the DD), since they both came out roughly the same price. I kept waffling back and forth for a long time, the Patek and DD40 were both stunning. Very different watches but both had things I loved about them, it was basically a 50/50 for me, but the deciding factor was I had been thinking of getting a DD40 RG/Olive for the past year and happened to see it in the display case. Although the 5524R is just stunning in person.
As I asked to continue to see the other offerings, I happened to stroll by the Panerai case, and there was probably 20 to look at (wish I took more pictures). First the SA mentioned he had to show me the new gray faced submersible...thought it was really different, and it happened to be in Titanium, but I've also been interested in picking up a Panerai for the last couple years but my smaller wrists made me take pause. I always thought I would end up with a Radomir to suit my wrist (6.5in) until they came out with the Due (thinner case in 42mm). I always loved the look of (brandrea's) PAM 690 (edit) but at 47mm, too big for me. Then I saw the smaller cousin the PAM 927. The yellow gold hands and sandwich dial at 42mm seemed like a no brainer. Because its so thin, I do wish it was SS over Titanium, because it feels a little too light. I ended up with the DD40 / PAM 927! |
