Might pick this up. Thoughts?

Hey guys,

Thinking of getting my first Panerai. I knew I wanted a base logo. The 774 caught my eye because of the blue logo.

8 year warranty is great, but wanted to see what you guys thought since I know next to nothing about panerai.

Would swap the strap for blue gator.

Yes! Why didn't I think of that?!

Just the kind of insight I appreciate after all these years.

Thank you :)

In my opinion, if I wanted base, I’d go back to early models, Panerai 112 or 390 in 44mm or iconic 372 in 47mm.

Not sure of your budget but the base Luminors with the 8 day handwound movements and "sandwich" dials are very cool. If not that series then I too would go for what rootbeer suggested. Best of luck!

The snap-on case-backs of the latest models don't do it for me. YMMV.

Check out the 562, with its all-satin titanium case, brown dial, and dark brown alligator strap

I also recently picked out my first Panerai, and I'm glad I did. I prefer a Radiomir with wire lugs. My new 754...
