I guess part of their latest sales are folks who had to buy a new watch to upgrade; exactly what Apple is known for.

Just because the watch doesn’t get the latest OS, does not mean it doesn’t work anymore. I still have the very first Apple Watch and it does still work just as well as it did when new.

I just don’t wear it anymore.

Since 2019 numbers are not yet available I took 2018 as reference:

This counts ALL Swiss watches, including all quartz watches. Only around 7.5 million are mechanical. 16.2 million were quartz, taking 2018 numbers as a baseline. In 2018 the AVERAGE price of all mechanical watches sold from Switzerland was 2171 CHF. And 222 CHF for electronic watches. Average of all Swiss watches: 840 CHF

However with Apple this is likely sold watches, with the Swiss industry it’s exported, meaning sold to retailers etc, not to end consumers.

It looks shocking indeed. But compare to a like for like branded windows PC workstation. It’s actually a good price. People who really need this kind of work PCs have no problem with the price. It may sound ridiculous to us to see the price of a decent car for a Mac but it’s not for the normal user. We can stick with our MBPs and iMacs...

I do video, now working in 4K and potentially 6 and 8K, so I need a workstation with some power... I'm chugging along on my ancient 12 core workstation and my newish Macbook Pro, but I thought this might be the year for me to upgrade, that being said, I don't think I need a $50K workstation, but likely it will still be much more than have ever spent in the past.

Apple stock has essentially doubled my portfolio for 2019 so I can't complain that much

I doubt I will ever wear an Apple Watch, Fitbit or any other type like either of these two, the closest I ever came was back in the Casio digital watch days but that was so long ago.
