First, the paint color coat is already sealed by a clear coat at the factory so this is not really an issue. The urethane in the clear coat is ready to cover in days vs. months. What you may be remembering is the curing time for respray’s at body shops. They may be shooting differently than the factory. With a single stage paint, both the color and the shine are shot out of the same gun, at the same time. If you go to the factory and immediately take delivery, the coat will be only a week or two old. So perhaps you’d be more cautious. But...most new cars you buy at a dealer are over a month old by the time you sign for them. Xpel also makes a ceramic product so if you go that route, maybe let the same installer do the film + the ceramic to their specs. Otherwise you could get some finger pointing if one or the other fails within warranty period. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Porsche— to clear bra or wrap?
Yep. I know the diff.
The OP typed, “ My car is getting fresh paint next week...”. Thus, my comment. Quote:

In 6 months the car will need to be repainted from all the new paint chips lol. New technologies today can fully cure the paint within 2-3 weeks. They have infrared paint curing lamps and they also “bake” the paint which cures the paint extremely fast. |

If you put a ceramic coat on top, tar, bird doodoo, tree sap, etc will easily wash away. I have heard good things about Suntek too but I have a certified Xpel installer near me so I went that route. |

All of the top PPF companies as in 3M, Suntek and Xpel make high quality PPF. You would have a very tough time telling the difference between the 3. It all comes down to the installer. Find the very best installer you can who is a perfectionist and go with them. Nothing better than PPF and ceramic combo though!
