5513 question...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...id=p2759.l1259

My question is: is it correct a 1570 movement on a 5513? from what I know the 5513s have the 1520 movement. Please advice.

In 1959 the reference 5512 was introduced. This reference was produced from 1959 through 1978, and with four calibers used over the years: Calibers 1520, 1530, 1560 and 1570.

The reference 5513 was introduced in 1962, and replaced the reference 5508. The 5513 was produced from 1962 through June or so of 1990, one of the longest continually produced references in Rolex history. The reference 5513 used calibers 1520 and 1530. The caliber 1530 was used in both the 5513 and 5512 references for a time. The 5512 carried the C.O.S.C. certification while the 5513 using the same caliber did not have the chronometer certification.

The dial for that watch is a 5512. The serial# dates it to 1962. The case back reads 67'. The 1570 movement wasn't introduced until 1965. Something's not adding up.

...additionally, the band...

...is a HODGE-PODGE of parts from 3 DIFFERENT bands.

...the 280 ends are for the 7836/9315 bands, ONLY. Configured the way they are, they would be VERY loose on the head.

...the links sections are 78360, screw link sections.

...the buckle, is from a 9315 and MISSING the safety lever.

...seller, says aftermarket band, to AVOID any confrontation about the mix-matched band parts.

...in previous posts above, coupled with the band, this watch is a package of MIX-MATCHED parts.

Stan.

I think this watch is simply a 5512 4 lines from 67.
Most of 5512 got a case back from 5513, as mine (and sometime you could found 5513 with 5512 case back).
