Best Way to Clean Watch on Strap?
Sorry for what might be a naive question, but if one has a watch on NATO or other strap, what’s the best way to clean the watch without actually having to remove the strap? I’m wearing a watch that looks like it could use a light clean (buildup of dirt, dust, grime, etc.) between the lugs, but I don’t have the appropriate watch tool at moment to take off strap. Thanks.

I use a specific product called Wristclean but other use baby shampoo or similar, regardless of the cleaning product use a very soft bristle brush intended for jewelry, what I do with my pieces on leather, alligator etc... is spray just the case done and lightly scrub all areas around the case in particular around the bezel and in between the lugs and then just rise and yes you will get the strap wet but not soaked and after it’s washed I dry throughly with a microfiber close and lay it flat to let the strap dry overnight.
I have so far never had an issue doing it this way but if the case is really dirty then I would suggest you remove the strap and clean more throughly

I've been using wrist clean by Vareat exclusively for a few years. Great product line. They do have a strap cleaner which i just recieved, haven't tried it yet but I'm sure it's top notch as their SS cleaners and cloths

Wait until you have the tool and do it right. Or just boil it if you can’t wait.
