My wife flies between 6 and 12 times a month for business. The company defines the area and the flights and seats are not always her ability to choose. Also flights are delayed and canceled and other fast arrangement need to be made.

International travel is much better because she flies business class and has more advanced notice.
It’s generally speaking. Not like SW, where you board without an assignment and can pick or choose after entering the aircraft...of course there are exceptions.

No question there. I'd still like to hear the full exchange. She had a smirk on her face when looking back and he said something at one point during the video. I still think there's more to it.

His actions are inexcusable regardless.

Besides, I'd have punched much harder.

Could be a bad day all around.

I remember flying a couple of week after a knee surgery, and I was sitting there reading and the person in front dropped the seat back on my knees. I'm 6'4 and I'm not a big fan of reclining seats.

As I said this is just another thing the airlines should not introduce into the dynamic of flying. Flying is stressful for some people, there's the kid thing, the delays, the loss of personal space, the time, etc, etc.

In every flight I've ever been on, I have seen NO rude behavior by people and everyone has tried to make a rotten experience manageable.

I remember when the stupid airlines were even talking about allowing cellphone calls on flights. My god are these the dumbest people on the planet or what. What could go wrong????

There are a million people in the air every day and occasionally you hear of a bad circumstance. People handle this mess pretty well.

Yeah, cattle calls are unpleasant. Inter Island in Hawaii is much like that, only the flights are only less than an hour.

What if.... The airlines all charged $100 more per ticket and everyone got a lot more space. Blood pressure would go down, it would be a pleasant experience again. Then, what if the bathrooms were actually usable. All for $100. I'd even throw in an extra $10 to have them clean it.

I hate government interference, but since they cannot govern themselves, it is inevitable.

Don't think $100 would do it....

The problem is that it’s a race to the bottom. People in general choose who to fly based on cost. It’s why Ryanair is the biggest airline in Europe despite being utterly notorious for shaking down passengers and having appalling customer service. If you can avoid their charging you extra for checking in at the airport, extra for having them print off your boarding pass and extra for the luxury of having a snack and a beverage in-flight, then they’re dirt cheap, and thus popular. This in turn forces other airlines to compete on cost, meaning any airline charging extra for a bit more space is a non-starter.

Ironically, Ryanair is one example of an airline who have a fleet of planes with seats that don’t recline.

Does anyone fly commercial not expecting the person in front of them to recline their seat? I take it as a given that the person in front of me is going to recline their seat. No one has ever asked me for my permission and I don’t expect them to.

The seats are designed to recline. Not much more to it.

These are the future seats airlines are considering. Just pack them in more like a can of sardines!

Looks like the ones in United regional jets I flew to Calgary in.

Why would anyone want a seat with the headrest tilted down like that. Are we bowing our heads to our corporate masters every time we fly?

Saw that. Crazy. There are a lot folks who fly now who will not be able to tolerate that position for any extended period of time. That seat position alone will result in lawsuits.

This is the product of an ignorant and overzealous design team looking to get a bonus. Not only will they hurt some backs but they’ll probably increase the likelihood of DVT in certain patient populations.
