I personally wouldn’t want two black dial steel bracelet watches as my only watches. What would I do? I’d keep the Sub for sure (but, I really like the aesthetics), sell the rest and buy a Grand Seiko SBGM221 for a beautiful (and reasonable, relatively speaking) watch on a strap.

much as i would like to go against the grain. i have to vote the Sub. The elprimero is more iconic than the moonwatch interms of watch making.

Sub and Speedmaster or Sub and Nomos.

Either way, Sub would be the definite keeper.

It’s hard to
Imagine keeping the sun over the BB but your choice. Question- how did you get two chronos and two divers so early into things? And if the NB hasn’t even been interesting enough to size, why keep?

Paring down to 2 - pretty much a done deal but would appreciate thoughts

For me I would keep the Zenith and the Nomos. The wife can have the Nomos, and I will wear the Zenith.

I owned the reduced version of the Speedmaster for 2 years. Nice watch but the chrono was inaccurate, the dial legibility was poor, and the overall aesthetic didn’t suit my taste. I gave it to a very close friend as a gift.

I like Submariners enough, but sans date and sans cyclops.

The Tudor Black Bay 58 is a solid watch but the lack of adjustability on the bracelet results in piss poor fit. It’s either too tight or too loose. A strap would be a hood alternative but I like to keep watches on the OEM bracelet.

I like the “get the DJ36” idea and be done.

I agree with many other members, if I have to keep just two, they will be the Speedy and the Sub.

All the posts suggesting you keep the Sub are completely missing the fact you said you don’t like it and have not bonded with it.

The Speedy is a definite keep so the Zenith has to go because it is too similar. Therefore the answer is the BB58 or sell this as well and buy a second watch that’s not in the list currently.

Taste is subjective and only you truly know the answer to what you will bond with long term. However, I can say that if your lifestyle is such that you would want one of your watches to be of the kind that you do not have to care about as much, the BB58 is a rugged tool watch and a good size for many activities that you might not want to do wearing a larger or more expensive watch, ie. beech, swimming, skiing, outdoor work, etc. This makes it very versatile. I also happen to think the general quality and the movement inside the watch is superb. Tudor are really punching above their weight at the moment.

I will join the crowd and say that the Submariner and the Speedy would be my choices. I would get a few Omega NATO straps and a few leather straps for the Speedy and change it up a little from time to time. The Submariner is a classic and the watch with some real value on the trade, sell list. Why not give it a chance and do a 20-30 day wear test and go with it as a one and only. If properly adjusted it wears great and I have found with my Rolex divers the more I wear them the more I want to wear them. The BB58 is a cool watch but too small for my wrist and tastes. With Basel coming in a few months you can bet we will see a new version of the BB58 and the secondary values have already been sliding. My AD use to have a waiting list on the BB58 and the GMT but now supply has caught up with demand. Send a note to one of our Trusted Sellers and see what you could get for yours. I think it might be time to move the 58 if you want to retain serious value before you wear it. I would not do anything until I was clear. Keep us posted on what you decide.

Great collection.....Id keep the Tudor BB and the Speedmaster if only 2.....strecth to 3 and keep the nomos white dial.....gives collection a little diversity with the white dial and leather strap. Cheers

If I were you I would find either 16610 or 14060m (Maybe 16710 GMT) to pair with ur Speedy.

This is the most likely route I’m taking, with the wifey taking custody of the Nomos.

Nothing more than personal preference, I guess. Cliche at this point, but to each their own.

A very understanding wife - my answer to both questions.

I’ve tried and failed so many times to like the sub enough to keep it for myself. My son might like it though so it might still stay unless an unworn 14060M comes along. As for the BB, I’m not really into its future value. I liked it from the get go and was offered one by an AD but passed because I just picked up the sub at the time. I didn’t think twice the second time I got the call after a year or so.

Appreciate the advice.

Couldn’t agree more. Tudor has been killing it and I’m excited about their future offerings. Maybe I will grow the collection again like some eventually do. But right now, I just want to keep two of these bad boys.

Appreciate this and kudos for standing your ground against the hype and market forces.

I'd keep the sub, sell the rest, and buy another sub.

Since you're holding onto the Speedy, I'd move the Zenith out. Since the Speedy isn't a water resistant piece, I would also get rid of the Nomos. Between the Sub and BB, i'd keep the Sub.
